The Bounty finally landed in front of the tea shop. They knew of Morro's ambush already. Not only did they figure as much, as he's a very impatient being, but they were watching the news too.
Natasha had been in front of the screen the whole time. She didn't need to know what the reporter was saying in order to understand the screaming behind him. A ghost even appeared in front of the camera in a taunting manner.
"Shouldn't we be going to Stiix? Kai questioned as Jay was the first to hop off. "The longer we wait, the worse it'll get."
Wu replied rather seriously, "We need to stock up."
"On what? Magic tea that will make us invincible? Give us special powers?" Jay then gasped with excitement. "Is it gonna give us four arms?"
The sensei led the group toward the doors which now had a large red X plastered on it. "Sadly, no magical tea today. I had to sell the rest of the merchandise along with everything else."
"What?" Zane gasped in shock. "You sold your business? But that was for your retirement!"
Suddenly, a young-ish man burst the doors open, rolling out on a wheelchair. "Ah, hello again ninja!"
"While we were away, I had Borg use the money from the tea farm to create us some new toys to balance the scales," Wu explained. "They are expensive, you know."
The man known as the ingenious Cyrus Borg rolled closer to the group. "It's been so long, I barely recognize any of you!" He started to point out each one. "Lloyd looks older, I see a water ninja! A titanium nindroid! Cole is, uh... a ghost. Heh. Jay looks shorter. And, and then there's Kai. Oh, and a civilian I've never seen before, hello."
The ninja in blue wasn't having it. "Hey. What do you mean I look shorter?"
"I'm sorry Dr. Borg, but cut to the chase," Kai stepped up in a hurry. "We don't have much time."
"Yes, always the impatient one! Come, let me show you."
The inventor rolled off toward the entrance and pressed a button. To their surprise, the entire circular pattern on the ground lowered before elevating a bunch of new tech.
"Now if you want a little muscle with that hustle, I've made Jay a lightning-fast Ghost Taker GT! Front spectral intake, rear incorporeal storage."
He hurried over with a giddy grin. "Why did the ghost cross the street? Oh, I don't know, maybe because he saw me coming in that!"
"Zane's Ice Mech; sure it appears to be the same, but I've equipped the underarms with Deepstone particle shooters, allowing you to freeze the competition."
The nindroid slowly walked toward it with a wild smile. "Super cool... and I mean quite literally!"
"Cole, I've made you a Ghost Cycle. Twin carbine blasters, auto-evasive handling, made entirely of Deepstone, perfectly molded to fit the uh, bodiless. And I've set all the radio presets to your favorite: soft rock."
Ignoring the slight jab at his new form, the ghost rubbed the bike for a minute before jumping into the seat. "I do love a slow jam." He laughed once a good song played.
Seeing as the fire ninja was eagerly waiting for his own tech, Borg threw him a small object. "And for you, Kai!"
He was pretty disappointed when he caught some red fabric. "A... headband."
"A personal embroidered headband! Thirty-two thread count, easy tie capabilities...!" But the inventor knew damn well he wasn't pleasing anyone. "... I'm sorry. I lost track of the time building the other vehicles..." He then turned to the ninja in green. "Same goes for you, Lloyd. To be honest, I wasn't entirely sure you'd be making it back."
