Nya wasn't a woman to be taken lightly. She was tough, able to go through any ordeal and come back stronger than ever. It was almost impossible to wear her down. Even during her training to become the Master of Water, she was exposed to weaknesses she never knew she had. But they only made her more powerful in the end.
Standing alone in the corridor before the entrance hall, this was the first time she felt true fear. Nadakhan displayed a devastating amount of power that no other enemy had. And she was terrified at how easy it was to capture her, how simple it would be to give him infinite wishes.
This was the first time Nya didn't have a plan. She was utterly lost, only able to hope her friends could get to her in time.
That Jay could get to her in time.
Said ninja couldn't take his eyes off the palace. He was in another world, the only thing on his mind being to save the former samurai. He couldn't fail.
"Thank you," Kai spoke in the background. "I don't know how we'll ever be able to repay you."
Skylor grinned, hands on her hips. "Let's just say, you owe me one."
"Or a few thousand," Ronin cut in, "if we're talking denomination of currency."
Lloyd and Kai blinked. They were shocked, but not surprised.
Natasha kicked him behind the knee.
He grunted, nearly falling. "What? No reward!?"
"Hey, you'd do the same for us," Dareth assured with a silly smile, leaning back a bit. "Only with less pizzazz."
Jay scoffed, finally out of his trance and turning toward the others. "I hate to break up the reunion, but may I remind you we have a wedding to stop?"
Misako stepped up. "That's right. Jay has his last wish to take the djinn down."
"But since we don't have the poison, it'll be up to us to slow him down," Kai told everyone. "Come on, there's no time to waste."
The entire group went running. The only one who stayed behind was, to little surprise, Lloyd.
"Wait!"
They stopped and turned.
"If you defeat Nadakhan, his power will diminish."
"Uh, yeah." Cole looked confused. "That's kinda the point..."
But Wu knew exactly where he was headed with that. "Of course. Lloyd is all too right. If his power diminishes, Djinnjago will fall. Ninjago will be crushed!"
Kai frowned. "So even if we win... we lose?"
Soto held his hooked hand up. "Well, whatever you decide, I sure don't want an all-powerful Djinn calling the shots." He then faced the sensei. "You have to take him out if you have the chance!"
If crushed, most of Ninjago would recover. However, nothing would ever be the same if the Djinn King became the most powerful.
And so Wu faced his pupils. "Ninja, you go stop Nadakhan. The rest of us will return back to Ninjago to prepare for the worst."
Jay held the sword high above his head. "Ninja, go!" With that, the five ran off in pursuit of the palace.
They had no idea what would wait for them.
Dareth tried following, but the thief held his arm out. "Ah-ah. Not you, Dareth."
Somehow, he remained confident. "The Brown Ninja will live to fight another day."
"This way; we'll take the jet down!"
While they would make their way to Ninjago, the ceremony had started. Nadakhan floated at the altar, waiting for her like a proud groom. The timid serpent Clancee would be the one to wed them.
