Let's Fake It Moonshine - Ace Merrill

Double date!

"Come on its easy!" Ace laughed out as he gently tugged Luna closer by their connected hands.

Betsy had naturally shown up half an hour into them arriving and so their fake PDA was upped by 10 immediately. Luna laughed as she crashed into him, his arm locked around her waist as he offered her the cue with his other hand.

"I'll show you." He gave her a quick kiss on the head as he spun her slightly so she faced the pool table.

Luna giggled as she allowed Ace to bend her slightly so they were both leaning over the table. He had shown her how to hold the cue.

"Aim to hit that red one." He whispered into her ear as he straightened up and stood back.

Luna took a deep breath and fired. The white ball knocked the red straight into the corner pocket as she stood up and cheered for herself slightly.

"That's fucking cheating!" Charlie groaned out. "You can't have Ace help you."

"Oh I could beat you without Ace's help." Luna replied confidently as she smirked over at him.

A couple of the others laughed at her comment as Charlie nodded quickly.

"Alright Merrill, me and you, no help." Charlie snapped at her as he began grabbing the balls and getting ready to reset them up.

"Merrill?" Luna asked quietly as she looked around.

"You're Ace's girl ain't yah?" Jack asked beside her, pulling the toothpick from his mouth

Luna nodded slowly.

"Merrill." He mumbled as he placed the toothpick back and turned back to his game with his Vince.

Luna relaxed slightly as she turned back to get ready for her game with Charlie.

Charlie lost.

By a lot.

The cobra didn't stand a chance and Luna grew more comfortable as each cobra high fived her whenever she potted a ball, Fuzzy handed her drinks as they all surprisingly cheered her on through the game.

"Merrill here's a little hustler!" Eyeball said with a laugh as he comfortably draped his arm around her shoulder.

Luna laughed and shook her head. "Beginners luck I guess." She replied with a shrug.

"Alright, let's see how fucking good you are then Merrill." Billy snatched the cue from Charlie as he nodded at Vince, who began resetting the balls.

"Beginners luck my fucking arse!" Billy snapped as he watched Luna straighten up from potting the final black and beating him. "Merrill's a fucking cheat."

The others all laughed at Billy's loss while Ace walked over and draped his arm around her neck.

"Nah you're just shit." He laughed out.

Connie moved over to Billy's side as she attempted to comfort him before looking over at Luna.

"You hungry?"

Luna nodded slowly, she hadn't eaten since breakfast and it was now- she turned and looked up at the clock.

"Holy shit it's that time already?!" She exclaimed as she saw it was already 5:45pm. "We've been playing all day?!"

"Time flies when your having fun Merrill." Vince mumbled as he walked past her.

"Food?" Ace looked down at her as she nodded eagerly.

"Great! Double date!" Connie said excitedly as she tugged on Billy's arm.

Ace and Billy nodded slowly as Luna said bye to the others and had to promise she'd come back to play them again.

"I've never seen him this happy." Connie mumbled quietly to Billy as they walked behind Ace and Luna.

Their hands were connected as he was twirling her down the street while they laughed and joked together.

"Me either." Billy mumbled. "And I thought he was only doing it to make Betsy jealous."

Connie looked up at him blankly but Billy nodded.

"Didn't you see the way they were suddenly all over each other when she came in earlier?"

Connie shook his comment off. "Totally false, Betsy left like straight away but they were still all over each other."

"I don't think they saw her leaving though?" Billy questioned as he looked back over at them. "Their tongues were kinda tied when she did."

Connie scoffed and shook it off again, nodding towards them. Ace now had both of Luna's hands but was holding them behind her back as he leant down to kiss her again.

"That's rubbish Billy. You can't fake that."

Billy looked over as he saw Ace practically showering her with kisses while she laughed along with him.

"That's definitely not fake." Connie mumbled as she took Billy's hand in hers and they followed the couple into the diner.

"Okay I'm so glad you finally have a girl we can do this with!" Connie said happily once they'd ordered and Luna left to go to the toilet.

Ace somewhat looked at her blankly. "You could have done this with Betsy."

Connie shook her head and even Billy did too.

"She hated me Ace." Connie replied firmly. "We all know it."

Billy still nodded in agreement, all the cobras saw the way that Betsy had hated Connie.

"She didn't hate you..." Ace mumbled as he wanted the conversation to change.

"Dude..." Billy spoke up. "She fucking hated all of us."

Ace looked up at him as he nodded again.

"Can't tell me I'm wrong. But we like this girl so you're good." He added a smile as Luna quickly arrived and sat back down beside Ace.

"Everything okay?" She asked as she looked between the three of them confused.

"Everything's great Merrill, you're good." Billy gave her a smile as Connie began chatting across the table to Luna about planning a time for them to go shopping together without the guys.

Ace sat there silently as he kept trying to look over at Luna as she laughed along with Connie and Billy, eagerly listening to them talking. His mind flashed over the day, all of the guys had taken to calling her Merrill. With Betsy they called her the dragon bitch, even though he told them not to, he knew they still did.

He saw how much happier Connie was as the girls swapped funny stories. He saw how Luna didn't treat Billy any different, she knew all the stories about him but she still happily laughed along with him.

Ace tried to shake what he was feeling. It was all fake, he reminded himself. Luna was just doing it for show. It was all fake. They were fake. They were-

"Ace?"

He snapped from his trance as he looked about, their food had arrived and the three were staring at him expectantly.

"Sorry, got distracted." He mumbled as they all began eating slowly.

Billy gave him a confused look across from him as Ace shook it off and focused on his food.
