Mistake?

"Okay so I'll meet you at the diner tomorrow morning." Luna mumbled as she stood outside her front door and looked up at Ace.

He nodded slowly. "You sure you don't need me to pick you up?"

She shook her head. "I'll walk in then walk home, don't worry about me."

Ace nodded slowly as he felt himself sigh.

"You got everything?" He asked as he felt himself shuffle on his feet.

Luna nodded as she gestured to the teddy in her arms and the photos in her hands.

"Betsy's not gonna know what hit her with this new and changed Ace aye?" Luna tried to force a laugh.

Ace forced one back as he nodded. "Just make sure Theodore's nice to you, please. For me?" Ace begged her.

Luna nodded again as she looked up at him. "Because I'm not going to get a chance to say it tomorrow," she paused as she looked down before back up at him. "It's been a pleasure being your fake girlfriend."

Ace gave her a small smile. "It's been a pleasure being your fake boyfriend."

"Hey if this was any type of real relationship or real date, this would be the part where you kiss me good night." Luna forced another laugh.

Ace nodded slowly as the pair both looked down before back up at each other. The silence spoke everything as Ace found himself slowly leaning closer. Luna couldn't fight the feeling as she steadily leant closer to him. She let the teddy hang at her side as she felt his hands hold onto her waist.

Neither spoke another word as Ace gently pulled her closer to him, lowering his head ever closer.

"LUNA!"

Ace and Luna quickly pushed themselves apart before their lips could meet as she turned and saw Lexi and Jayme coming skipping over to her.

"Oh-" Jayme stopped as she saw Ace standing there.

"Our bad. Didn't mean to interrupt." Lexi tried to hold back a laugh as both girls stifled their laughs.

"Do continue. We'll wait." Jayme coughed out as Lexi giggled, smacking her arm.

"You're both drunk aren't you?" Luna sighed out as she mentally wanted to beat them for stopping what would have been the first real kiss with Ace.

"Just a little." Lexi mumbled as she attempted to hold up both her fingers to make it seem like they'd only had a little.

"We got gossip!" Jayme said excitedly as she waved her arms about. "But you two just finish up and we'll wait."

"Just no touchy feely stuff, I don't wanna see that." Lexi added quickly.

Jayme shrugged. "She pulled the Merrill, I'm curious to see it."

"Girl no, he's the one that pulled her." Lexi argued.

"I'm sorry about them..." Luna mumbled as she finally turned back to Ace, leaving the girls to argue about which one pulled the other.

Ace shook his head and laughed. "It's fine, they probably stopped you making from a mistake anyway." He mumbled as he looked down.

"Mistake?"

Ace nodded as he finally looked back at her. "Kissing me the day before we fake break up and you really get back together with your ex might just make things a little complicated."

"Oh yeah that..." Luna mumbled. "Ace I need-"

"Hey Luna! Did he pull you or did you pull him?"

She sighed as she went to turn to her friends but Ace beat her to it by looking up at them.

"I pulled her." He shouted back as he heard Lexi begin to rub it in.

"Look Ace, I just need to-"

"How'd you do it?" Jayme asked back.

Luna sighed again as she turned and glared at them. Their giggles both came out as they tried to avoid her gaze.

"It's okay Ace! She'll tell us all about it when you go!" Lexi laughed out as she continued to cling to Jayme.

"I mean I won't, I'm gonna hit them." Luna mumbled as she faced back to Ace again.

"I better get going anyway. Leave you to..." his voice trailed off as he gestured over to Lexi and Jayme.

Luna nodded quickly. "Yeah sure, I'll meet you tomorrow. 10am work?" She asked nervously.

Ace nodded quickly. "Yeah yeah 10am works." He mumbled as he quickly began walking back to his car.

"Damn girl where's the kiss?!" Jayme exclaimed as she pointed between the two.

"Jayme let's just go inside." Luna sighed out as she gestured to her house.

"I ain't going nowhere till I see a kiss!" Jayme exclaimed as Lexi quickly rushed over to Ace and swiped his keys from his hand.

"Kiss Merrill." She fired out her order before laughing.

Ace turned and looked over at Luna. He watched as she placed the teddy down but still held onto the photos.

"Give it to him girl!" Jayme encouraged as she held onto the wall to keep her stable.

"I'm sorry." Luna mumbled as she reached Ace and half slammed him against the car.

"Don't apologise." He quickly blurted out as she leant up and kissed him.

Luna knew this kiss was different to all the others before. She knew they didn't have to put on a show as they were set to "break up" tomorrow anyway. Yet it was. Her arms wrapped around his neck as she let her fingers slide through her hair.

Ace's hands gripped her waist as he kissed her back harder, gently tugging her body closer to him, desperate not to break the kiss as he wanted more.

"You think they can breathe?" Lexi attempted to whisper to Jayme.

Jayme shrugged as Lexi chucked Ace's keys on the floor. Yet even the sound of his keys crashing down didn't make either pull apart. Luna simply kept a firm hand on the back of his neck and tugged him closer as she continued to smash her lips against his.

"Ooo teddy bear!" Jayme said excitedly as she raced over to the front door.

Lexi quickly followed her as they stumbled together, picking up the bear and quietly entering her house.

Luna finally managed to force herself away from him as she remained leant up against him.

"Ace..." she whispered breathlessly as their foreheads remained pressed against together.

"See you tomorrow." He whispered back, just as breathless.

"Break up in person."

Ace nodded against her as she slowly pulled away. Their hands met as she took a small step back and Luna could have sworn Ace tried to grip her tighter as Ace could have sworn Luna tried to grip him tighter.

"See you tomorrow." She whispered as she gave him a small smile before walking back up to the house and heading inside.

"Read it?" Lexi mumbled as she shoved a note in Luna's face.

"Mum and dad have gone away for the night and the twins are at a sleepover." She mumbled.

"Great!" Lexi said happily. "Free house Jayme!"

Jayme cheered from somewhere else in the house. "Can you and Ace keep it down though?"

Lexi laughed as she dragged Luna into the living room.

"Me and Ace aren't fucking, he's gone home." She almost snapped at the girls.

Lexi scoffed and reached out to jab at the hickeys on her neck. "Sure you're not."

Luna swatted her hand away and sighed as Jayme offered her a bottle of wine.

"Drink and tell us all about the Merrill." She said with a smirk.

Luna sighed as she saw her friend's faces, she knew exactly what they would want to know.
