Jessie takes another look at the base. She is standing at Front Gate with Eddie.

He felt it's too suffocating to stay in the base. He wanted to leave. Jessie volunteered to follow him.

Eddie comments, "You don't need to leave with me."

"It's too dangerous to travel alone. Someone needs to guard your back."

"Thank you."

Ross protested but he couldn't change their minds. Finally he gave them some food supplies and medicines before sending them away.

Val stares them for a long time at the Gate. Until he couldn't see them anymore.

On rooftop, Reed smirks. Two more people gone. This base is getting less folks. Better for him.

They have another meeting. All of them look gloomy.

Reed is pretending off course.

The newbie Omegas glance at him at certain intervals. They fear him for a good reason.

Ross sighs. They lost Wendy, Eddie and Jessie. It's a big blow for them.

Without wood ability, their food supplies are limited. Their stock would probably last a month or two.

Val has no worries. He has planted few seeds in his space. The trees are bearing fruits right now. Of course he kept silent. He can't tell them his space is different from others.

He would only reveal the fruits if there's nothing left to eat. Like finding them accidentally in a mission or something.

Darth is frowning. Without Eddie's earth wall, their mission would be more dangerous. He doesn't want to face that Tanky zombie again too soon.

Ross orders, "We have to secure more food supplies. It's our first priority."

Reed complaints, "You shouldn't be so generous. Giving them our foods for nothing. They're leaving and not coming back."

"They have earned it. They went to several dangerous mission with us. Unlike you."

Darth's harsh retort silences Reed.

Ross nods his head.

He says, "We are lacking members. Everyone shall participate in this mission. If anyone object, you could leave. We can't afford a rice worm in this base."

His sharp eyes landed on Reed. The only slacker in their base.

Darth claps his hands. Finally this Alpha stops playing as world savior. Nobody could afford being a hero in Apocalypse world. Well, maybe an idiot would do it.

Reed scowls and leaves the meeting room with unhappy face.

Beatrice, the older female Omega looks like in her late twenties or early thirty. She nods her head.

She and her younger sister, Carmen used to participate in food collecting mission. Until some zombies wiped out her teammates.

Carmen says, "We will prepare ourselves."

No mission. No food.

All the small bases is using this method to ensure food supplies.

Cruel?

Yes. This is Apocalypse world. Survival for the fittest. Weaklings should get stronger or perish. There is no reason for Omegas to stay in base and get pampered.

Val checks his Boomerang. He has been practicing lately. It's a good weapon. Last memento from Jerome.

He hasn't been crying lately.
