"Mama! I'm going out to get a job," I yell to my mama while putting my shoes on.
"Hun, you don't have to work this hard, I told you! Besides, you're father's death hur-," I didn't let my mama finish and looked up at her.
"Mama, Langa is getting older and his transfer can cause him a lot of trouble for his college, him fitting in, and him adapting to Okinawa, please let me," I mumble at last.
"It's not like I can win a fight with you. Now, all you care about is me and your brother. Try making a life on your own too. You quit all your favorite things," mama says. "Look at Langa, he got himself a friend and is out of the house most of the time."
"My family is more valuable than fun. Besides, Langa is a teenager...let him enjoy it while it lasts," I said, walking out of the house. I found a shop near my house and went in.
"Sir are you...," shoot! I forgot what hiring was in Japanese. "Um, taking people to work?"
"Ma'am, do you mean hiring?" He asks me awkwardly as I nod at his comment. "Yes, we are. But, you wouldn't be suited for it as you have a hard time speaking Japanese, I see."
"Arigato, I will be leaving," I said, going out of the store. Damn, they are paying pretty well too. I started walking down the streets as I went to every store I could find. None would accept me since I didn't look much appealing as I didn't show any emotion while I answered their questions. Also, I had a hard time speaking Japanese so I couldn't say a few words.
Then, I walked into a small gap, looking down as I bumped into a tall figure. The two of us fell as all the papers went flying out of his hands.
"Oh, my lord!" The man says, adjusting his glasses and catching the papers.
"G-Gomen," I said, helping him get his papers and handing them to him.
"Arigato, it would be great if you visually examined where you were peregrinated, ma'am," he says politely and walks away. As I began walking in the other direction, I realized I didn't have my resume with me. I started searching the ground and couldn't find it. Maybe it got mixed up with the man's paper! Shoot!
I started looking for the guy everywhere as I tried to remember what the guy looked like. The man had golden eyes and perfect, long, pink hair. I walked home all sweaty while panting.
"What happened?" Langa asked in English while coming up to me as he helped me sit on the sofa.
"Nothing really," I said, responding in English softly as I ruffled his hair. "I just lost my resume when I bumped into this man," I said, staring at him.
"You should stop being this reckless," Langa says, laying down on my lap. That is when I noticed his socks were on.
"You going somewhere out?" I asked him as I stared at his legs.
"What! No, no. I...uh, just forgot to take them off when I came home," Langa says, getting off my lap. Lie! Langa hates having his socks on at home so he takes them off immediately when he comes home. Especially, in this heat.
"Say whatever. I'm going to go up and take a snooze. Speaking Japanese, was so hard...it's hard to get a job. I better start looking for one tomorrow," I said, yawning and going upstairs to my room. I wasn't actually going to sleep, cause as an overprotective sister, I cared about what Langa was up to. I saw him leave the house out my window, and there was a redhead with him. Obviously, I was going to follow him.
I quickly put my hood over my shirt and skirt, put my shoes on, and ran outside as I followed them softly. To my surprise, my brother was...skateboarding?! He never knew how to skateboard over in Canada. Maybe he learned it last week. Let's say Langa was pretty bad at it anyways. Then, I heard the two snickering and laughing. I mean, my brother won't mind if I join him and his friend anyways, right? So, why can't I ask them?
"Oi, Lang? It's midnight, where are you trying to go?" I ask, putting my hands in my pocket.
"Shoot! We got caught," The redhead mumbles. "Gomen, ma'am! I am the one who dragged Langa with me. It won't happen again.
"It's cool. I just want to come along," I say. "Your friend's hair looks like it's on fire." I looked over as I examined the boy.
"HEY!" The boy yells.
"Neh-chan! What have I told you about being straightforward, people will take it the wrong way," Langa says, grabbing my hand.
"So, she's your Neh-chan huh?" He asks.
"Call me...C," I say to him.
"I'm Reki! Do you skateboard?" Reki asks, smiling at me.
"So, where are we going?" I ask, ditching his question. Reki just glared at me for not answering his question.
"U-Um, we are going to this place where people bet and race each other by skateboarding. You are fine with that, right?" He asks me.
"I guess," I said, shrugging. Soon, we got to this place filled with people holding skateboards. "Hmmm, not bad," I mumble as I remember my days in LA. I used to live alone in LA before I came back to Canada and had major experience with boarding. I stopped everything after my father died...
"Guys look! Cherry and Joe are here!" I heard a girl squeal. I looked over at where the girl was pointing. I looked over to see a muscled guy and...the dude, who I bumped into earlier! God really feels bad for me today, doesn't he? It looked like the two were...fighting? As both of them kept fighting, their boards came toward me.
"Neh-chan! Watch out!!" Langa yelled. Before I could move, the pink-haired man crashed into me, and the two fell to the ground. After the crash, the two of us looked were looking at the ground until we made eye contact. We stayed like this for the next 5 minutes. His whole face was red and looked at my face.
"Ahem!" Langa says, glaring at the pink-haired man.
