"You nerds in position or what?" Erica asked on the radio.

"Yeah, we're in position." Robin said into the radio. "It's all quiet here, so you got the green light."

"Green light. Roger that." Erica said on the radio. "Commence operation, child endangerment."

"Can we maybe not call it that?" I said into the radio as Robin gave the radio to me.

"See you on the other side, nerds." Erica said on the radio.

We could hear her crawling around on the radio.

After a while, she talked into the radio again. "All right nerds. I'm there."

"Do you-- do you see anything?" I asked into the radio.

"Yeah, I see those boring boxes you're so excited about." Erica responded on the radio.

"Any guards?" I asked on the radio.

"Negative." She said.

"Booby traps?" Robin asked.

"If I could see them, they'd be pretty shit traps, wouldn't they?" Erica said.

"Thank you for that." I said.

Erica kicked the grate open and jumped down. "I'm in."

"Oh, god." Steve said while covering his face.

Erica opened the door and walked out. "Free ice cream, for life."

We then walked down and into the room. Steve opened one of the boxes with a knife, which revealed an odd metal container. He then opened the container and then it revealed four circular slots with circular containers.

"That's definitely not Chinese food." Steve said as he set the lid down and was about to lift one of the circular containers out. "Uh, maybe you guys should, you know, step back."

"No." Dustin and I said as Erica and Robin stepped back.

"Just step back, okay?" He said to both of us.

"No." Dustin said.

"Step back!" Steve said.

"No." Dustin and I said again.

"Seriously!" Steve said.

"No!" Dustin and I yelled. "If you die, we die."

Steve shrugged. "Okay."

Steve then lifted one of the circular containers which seemed to be containing some green goo.

"What the hell?" Steve said as he looked at it.

"What is that?" Robin asked.

All of a sudden, the room shook.

"Okay, what in the hell was that?!" I yelled.

"Was that just me or did the room move?" Dustin asked.

"Booby traps." Erica whispered.

"You know what?" Robin said as she grabbed the circular container. "Let's just grab that and go."

Dustin walked over to the key pad with the opening and closing buttons and pressed the open button multiple times but it didn't work. "Which one do I press Erica?"

"Just press the damn button, nerd." Erica said.

"Which one?" Dustin said as he kept pressing it. "I'm pressing the button, okay?"

"Press 'open door'!" Erica shouted.

"I'm pressing 'open door'!" Dustin shouted back.

"Just open the--" Steve said as he walked over to the key pad with the buttons. "Press the other button!"

Steve tried pressing the other button and it didn't work either. I paced the room, panicking, because the buttons weren't working.

"Guys get out of the way so that she can press the button!" Robin said, talking about Erica.

Steve and Dustin were arguing about which button to press and who should press it.

"Just open the door!" I yelled.

Then the door was blocked by some sort of barrier and it slammed shut. I stopped pacing and froze.

"Oh shit." I said.

All of a sudden, the room dropped and started flying down at a high speed and we all started screaming.

Steve noticed the lights on the walls were flying past the ceiling. "Oh shit."

"SHIT! SHIT!" Dustin screamed as he ran over to the key pad and started spam pressing all of the buttons.

"We're going down! We're going down!" Steve screamed.

"Yeah, no shit, Harrington!" Robin and I yelled.

"Why won't these buttons work?!" Dustin kept screaming as he kept pressing every single button.

Erica ran over to him and yelled, "Press the button!"

"What do you think I'm doing?!" Dustin screamed at her.

"Come on! Press something! Just press the button!" Steve yelled.

"Push it!" Erica yelled.

Then the room came to a sudden stop and we all fell to the floor and a box fell on Steve.

"Ow." I said.

"Oh my groin!" Steve said as the box was crushing him. "It fell on my groin! Dustin! Get this off of me!"

Dustin ran over and helped Steve as I just laid on the floor and stared at the ceiling.

"Is everyone okay?" Robin asked.

"Yeah I'm GREAT, knowing that Russians can't design elevators!" Steve shouted as he walked over to the keypad.

"I think we've clearly established that those buttons don't work." Robin said.

"They're buttons, they've gotta do something!" Steve said.

"Yeah, if we had a key card!" I shouted while laying on the floor pointing to the key card slot next to the keypad.

"A what?" Steve asked.

"It's an electronic lock." I said as I stood up and walked over to Steve. "Same as the loading dock door. If we don't have a key card, it won't operate meaning--"

"We're stuck in here." Dustin interrupted.

"Yeah." I said.

"Just so you nerds are aware, I'm supposed to be spending the night at Tina's, and Tina always covers for me." Erica said. "But if I'm not home for Uncle Jack's party tomorrow and my mom finds out you four are responsible, she's gonna hunt you down, one-by-one, and slit your throat."

"I don't care about Tina! Or Uncle jack's party!" Steve shouted. "You're mom's not gonna be able to find us if we're dead in a Russian elevator!"

"Hey." Dustin said. "What if we climbed out?"

He pointed to the elevator shaft escape door on the ceiling.
