Upside Down Love Part 1 & 2

Part 2, Chapter 12: Your Friends Have Lost

We walked through the woods to a clearing where you could see Hawkins. The flowers were dead past a certain point. El walked into the dead clearing and picked up one of the dead flowers. It was covered in some gray moss-like stuff. We looked into the distance. There was smoke coming from all of the gates. There was red lightning too. We all stared. Will and I still had chills down our spines. Something was coming. We just didn't know what. I stood by mom and Hopper as they held hands.

"Well, that isn't good." I said.

"No it is not." Hopper said.

I immediately remembered what 001 showed me. An army coming into Hawkins. I had a really bad feeling that that was going to happen soon. I was scared. I didn't want anything that I saw to happen. I saw so many people dead. I saw my family dead. I saw my friends dead. I saw everyone dead. I didn't want that to happen. I looked at the smoke. Once I saw the red lightning strike again, I looked around and was suddenly in the Upside Down again. It was another flashback.

I looked around. I was near the pool that 001 showed me earlier. I slowly walked to the empty pool, avoiding any vines in my way, and peered down into it. As I looked, I saw Barb looking around.

"Nancy?" She yelled. "Nancy help please!"

Then she and I heard a low growling behind her. There was a Demogorgon in the pool behind her. She ran to the ladder and tried to climb up. Before she could get all the way up, the Demogorgon grabbed her and pulled her back into the pool as she screamed. Then I sat there, watching the Demogorgon kill Barb. I was shaking. I slowly walked backwards back to where I was hiding originally. I thought everything was safe but then I accidentally stepped on a vine. I looked down and moved my foot immediately. I started breathing heavier because of the fear. Then I heard a bunch of Demogorgons running towards me.

"Shit." I said under my breath.

Then I ran in the only direction I couldn't hear Demogorgons in and kept running for a long time. They never stopped chasing me. I kept avoiding the vines and running through the woods, looking for a place to hide where the Demogorgons couldn't find me. I ended up in the middle of town. I stopped running and looked around. I could still hear the Demogorgons growling but I couldn't hear them moving anymore. They must've been circling me. The closest place to me was the retail store so I quickly and silently ran into it and held the bell so that it wouldn't make any noise. Then I closed the door and hid in the back of the store by the storage room door. I was shaking even more than normal now. Just when I thought it was safe, I heard a Demogorgon growling in the storage room. I could hear it slowly walking around. I hid on the other side of the cashier counter and I closed the curtains because there was a huge window that anything could see me through. Then the Demogorgon opened the door. It looked around and slowly walked around the store. I covered my mouth as it started getting closer to me so that it wouldn't hear my breathing. Then the Demogorgon walked around the counter. It saw me. I was screwed. He roared and I jumped over the counter and ran out of the store, causing the bell to ring and the other Demogorgons heard it. Back to running again, I guess. I ran as fast as I could until a Demogorgon tackled me, causing me to scream. I put my hand out and threw the Demogorgon with my mind. At least my powers knew how to work in the most important situations. I was breathing heavily because it took a lot of energy to throw the Demogorgon with my mind. My nose was also bleeding a lot. I ran back to my hiding place, hoping that I wasn't compromised. I then sat down and grabbed my Walkman that was in my room when I went to the house to get survival supplies. A Walkman wasn't really needed for survival but it could be something to pass time in the silence. I put the headphones on my ears and started listening to my favorite song by Metallica. Then the flashback ended. I was back on the hill, looking at the smoke coming from the gates. 

"Katlyn, are you okay?" Eleven asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said.

001's voice echoed in my head because our connection wasn't fully gone. "Your friends have lost. You have lost."
