We walked into the attic. I ignored the fact that I felt like I was pinned to a wall because that would all be over soon. I walked up to Vecna, avoiding the vines, and put my hand up as high as I could without touching him. I then closed my eyes and was in his mind. I looked around and saw Max on the ground and Eleven walking up to him. They couldn't see me so I walked up to Vecna and put my hand up to his head.

"You and your friends believe you have won, don't you?" Vecna asked Eleven. "But this is only the beginning. The beginning of the end. You have already lost."

"No." Eleven said. "You have."

I closed my eyes and broke only some of our connection. I wasn't powerful enough to break the rest yet. Then I opened my eyes and was back in the attic. My nose was bleeding. I stepped back and nodded at everyone that they could attack now. I didn't feel anything Vecna was feeling anymore. I was free. I grabbed my gun and got prepared to start shooting him with Nancy once he was conscious again. Then Robin grabbed a cocktail and set it on fire and gave it to Steve and he threw it at Vecna's unconscious body. He fell to the ground in pain, fully conscious. All of the vines holding him up caught on fire too. His whole body was on fire. He looked at us and stood up.

"Seventeen." He said.

Robin lit a cocktail on fire and threw it at Vecna.

"Never call her that again." Steve said.

Nancy and I then walked closer to him, pointing our guns at him, and shot him multiple times. We both shot at him at the same time for our final shot and it sent him flying out of the window. Nancy and I lowered our guns and turned to Steve and Robin.

We stood at the top of the staircase at the front of the house and Vecna's body wasn't there. All that was there was fire and a print of where he landed in the rubble. We looked around. Nothing. All there was, was lighting in the sky. Vecna was just, poof, gone. We turned around to hear the clock chime four times.

"Four chimes." I said. "Max."

Then another earthquake started but this time it was different. The clock was ticking and each gate at each murder site expanded further and further until they each reached each other. Four chimes. Four deaths. Four gates. The end of the world.

"Shit." I said.

We all held onto something. Max was really dead. We lost. The earthquake stopped. I immediately grabbed a bandanna and the walkie-talkie. I put the walkie-talkie on a channel that was only static and put the bandanna over my eyes.

"Katlyn, you just got your powers back. You're not going to be at your full potential." Steve said as I sat down.

"Shh. Stop talking." Nancy said.

I then appeared in the void. I saw Eleven sitting next to Max and Lucas. Max was in his arms.

"Eleven?" I said.

She turned to me, crying. "I need your help."

I sat next to her and grabbing her hand. "We've got this. We can bring her back together."

We both put our hands over Max's chest and closed our eyes and thought of our memories we had with Max. We were focusing on starting Max's heart again. One memory showed when Max and I were coloring.

"Kate, do you think we'll survive?" Max's voice echoed.

"I do think we will." My voice echoed. "I know we will."

She smiled and we went back to coloring. Then it went to another memory when we were making fun of Steve's haircut before I moved.

"Holy shit. What is that?" Max giggled.
