Deceptive Love

~ Twenty One ~

Cathalina busted through my door with the red dress as she said happily, "ball time!"

Cathalina started getting me ready. She dead straightened my hair, it fell to my mid back, she did a red lip like usual and glam makeup with gold eyeshadow but a smokey eye. She gave me the dress and told me to hurry up and get dressed.

I walked into her walk in wardrobe and slipped into the maxi dress. It was like this crimson colour red, the material of the dress is very silky. It has two high slits at the front and a deep V slit on my chest which synched in my waist. It was beautiful and hugged all my curves. This is the prettiest dress ever. I slipped into my gold heels and walked out  of the wardrobe. 

Cathalina's jaw dropped and said, "girl you are going to make Nicholas's knees wobble with this dress."

I sarcastically said, "yes, because I want that."

Cathalina laughed and placed some gold accessories such as my gold hoops and gold necklaces.  She highlighted my collarbones and she said, "you look beautiful Mia, if I were gay I would marry you."

I started cracking up laughing we both did. We raised a toast to Cathalina artistic abilities and to the dress. Cathalina told me that Nicholas was outside waiting. 

So I guess the night begins.

I walked out the front door the night beautiful and starry. The light illuminating from the house gave me a beautiful sight of Nico. He was wearing all black, his usual attire plus his black blazer. He looked so handsome plus his beautiful sharp features and his perfect hair. Oh god he's breathtaking. He looked up from the ground and saw me. I walked straight towards him my chin up high.

I stopped in front of him and he looked me up and down. Scanning me. I said, "Mr Santino."

He didn't say anything he just kept looking over me. He's looking at me with an unreadable expression, either he thinks I look horrifying or he doesn't care or he thinks I look somewhat nice. It's frustrating. I said, "can you not."

He looked back at my eyes and asked, "not what?"

"Can you not look at me like that, it makes me concerned on what you think."

Nico looked me in the eyes and stuffed his hands in his pant pockets as he said, "you look beautiful Mia." 

That has to be the nicest thing he's said to me...

A small smile tugged on my lips but then I realise what he's trying to do. He's trying to make me want him. But I don't.

I just walked around the car and hopped into the passenger seat. I buckled myself in and Nico  started the car. I looked out the window as he started driving. So many thoughts buzzed through my mind. I looked back at Nico stealing a glance. He's hands were locked on the steering wheel clutching the wheel tight. He's knuckles turning white. He looked tens, like really tense. 

The car drive was absolutely silent as like nothing was happening. I kept on playing with the bracelet on my wrist, nerves ricocheting through my body. We finally arrived and I looked through Nico's window at this massive mansion that was lit up with warm lights like a Christmas tree. There were so many nice cars here as Nico parked in-front of the massive stairs to the entrance. 

Nico turned off the car engine and looked at me one hand clutching my head rest the other still on the wheel. I looked at Nico and he said, "one thing is that this ball is filled with all the mafia dons in the worlds and their partners we're here to discuss business terms and create new alliances..."
