Finding Hope Somewhere

Chapter 3

I woke up not knowing where I was. I looked around and it was just a field of grass and lot's of stones. I got up and brushed myslef off from the dirt and began to walk. After I started to walk further Iknew where I was. I was by where I met Jack. Why was I here? Was I here to bring back the only great memories I had? I had met Jack a few years back at the park I somehow ended up at.

*Flash Back*

"Mom I'm going to the park"

"Okay'

I rolled my eyes and walked out the door. I'm only thirteen and look my parents are letting me go out the house with no supervision.

I got to the park and sat on the swing and just pushed myself. Back and fourth, letting my legs flow with the wind. I was having a good time alone, I saw a boy with brown hair his eyes were blue, and he had two lip rings,he looked scared, he looked like he was about to.. die.

I ran over to him putting my hand on his back

"Are you okay?"

He just still sat there crouching with his hands gripping his stomach.

"I was beat"

"By who"

"My dad"

I felt bad for him because he had beaten and was here alone.

"I'm so sorry, what's your name?"

"Jack, you?"

"Laura"

I helped him up to the bench, and we taked for a little bit. I couldn't beleive the similarities we had, we both had dead beat parents, and we both had crappy lives.

*End of Flashback*

It made me sad to remember that day because Jack was so hurt and he was so sad and I was the only one there to comfort him. I have to admit though Jack was really good looking and if he wasnt my best friend I would totally go out with him.

I arrrived home and my parents were again fighting about how I left school to be with Jack

"Laura sit down missy" mom screamed

I sat down cursing under my breath.

"Do you know how hard it is on your mother and I to pay for your school?"

"No"

"I dont want you hanging around with that Jack kid anymore."

"Mom you can't do that'

'Oh yes we can"

"Can you ruin my life any more?"

"Do we ruin your life?"

"DAD, YES YOU DO, YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN THERE FOR ME. YOU ALWAYS LEAVE ME ALONE, YOU NEVER LISTEN TO ME, JACK IS THE ONLY ONE THAT LISTENS TO ME!!"

I was so mad I went upstairs to my room and got a bag and shoved clothes, shoes, some money, and a few other things. I went down stairs and I got out of that house as fast as I could. My mom and dad didn't even bother to chase after me. I called Jack and waited for him to answer.

"Hey Laura'

"Are you out of the hospital?"

"Yes."

"Pack your stuff we're getting out of here."

"Okay"

"I'll be waiting for you at the park where we met"

"Okay Laura'

I've been waiting for this day to come, where I runaway with my best friend. I got to the park where we met and Jack was already there waiting for me.

"Jack" I ran up to him and gave him a big hug while crying.

"Laura, shhh, calm down." Jack was stroking my hair and trying to calm me down.

"Jack they don't love me, they never will, they need help."

"I know Laura, so do mine, remeber we will stick like this forever."

"Yes, we will Jack, yes we will."

Jack and I didn't know where we we're going to go but it was an adventure. Him and where singing "It's time" by Imagine Dragons

"It's to begin isn't it, I get a litte bit bigger and then I'll admit, I'm just the same as I was, now don't you understand that I'll never change in who I am."

"You have a good voice Laura"

"Thank's I've been told."

"I want people to hear you"

"No"

"Why?"

"I don't know"

"Laura your so stubborn"

"I know"

Jack just laughed and put his hand around my waist and we continued to walk. It felt like we were walking for days by now we had no clue where we we're. I sat down on the rock next to

Jack and took out my back pack. I packed some water incase I got thirsty so Jack and I shared some of the water. We were both parched because it was so hot here in California.

"Laura I'm getting tired"

"Me too"

"Let's just plant here for tonight"

"Okay"

Jack and I put out our blankets and layed on them and looked up at the stars. I grabbed Jack and put my arm around him. I wasn't doing that as a boyfriend girfriend thing I did that because whenever he was having a hard day I would always hold him. He would do the same with me.

'Laura thank you for always being there for me"

"Your welcome Jack"

"I consider like a big sister more than a best friend"

"Thank you"

"I love you Jack"

"I love yo to Laura"

Pretty soon I looked over to Jack still intertwined with his body and he fell asleep. A few minutes later I fell alseep.
