Finally.

I've made it to the group with a large smile on my face, making them chuckle as I plop myself beside Nat.

"But, it's a trick." Clint states.

"No, no, it's much more than that." Thor objects.

"Ah, whoever be he so worthy shall haveth the power." He motions to the hammer.

"Oh, my."

"Whatever, man! it's a trick."

"Please, be my guest." Thor chuckles.

"Really?"

"Yeah." Thor and Tony nod.

"Oh, this is gonna be beautiful." Rhodey gets excited.

"Clint, you've had a tough week." Tony starts. "We won't hold it against you if you can't get it up."

I cover my mouth and turn away to hold in my laugh, Nat chuckling beside me. I look back with a smile as Clint gets to the hammer.

"You know I've seen this before, right?"

Thor nods with a knowing grin and Clint grunts as he attempts to lift, with nothing happening, of course.

"I still don't know how you do it." He laughs.

"Smell the silent judgement?" Tony teases.

"Please, Stark, by all means."

Clint heads for his seat as Tony stands, cockily unbuttoning his suit.

"Okay." Maria gets ready.

"Uh-oh." Rhodey smiles.

"Never one to shrink from an honest challenge." Tony states as he gets to the hammer.

"Get after it." Clint sits.

"It's physics." He puts the strap around his wrist and holds the handle with both hands.

"Physics." Banner doubts.

"Right, so, I, if I lift it, I then rule Asgard?"

"Yes, of course." Thor nods.

"I will be reinstituting prima nocta." He grunts as he pulls, pausing, and letting go. "Be right back."

"What?" I ask as he walks away.

He comes back a minute later with his iron hand, making me chuckle. He grips the handle and turns on the rockets as he pulls, still nothing happening. Rhodey gets his war machine hand and attempts to help him.

"Are you even pulling?" Rhodey asks.

"Are you on my team?"

"Just represent! Pull!"

"Alright, let's go."

Nothing.

Bruce comes up next and does something stupid, thinking Hulk will come out, me getting excited for a second before he just ends up embarrassing himself, disappointing me but, also making me feel bad.

Steve gets up next.

"Go ahead, Steve." Tony urges. "No pressure."

He lifts his sleeves and steadies himself, wrapping his hands around the handle.

"Come on, Cap." Clint encourages.

He pulls and I see it lift less than a centimeter off the table. My eyes go wide and I turn to Thor, him looking terrified, no one else noticing. Steve shrugs it off, and Thor breathes a fake laugh.

"Nothing." He takes a drink and I shake my head.

"And, Widow?" Stark asks as we all look at her.

"Oh, no, no." Nat denies. "That's not a question I need answered."

"All deference to the Man Who Wouldn't Be King but, it's rigged." Tony states.

"Bet your ass." Clint agrees.

"Steve, he said a bad language word." Maria tattles.

"Did you tell everyone about that?" Steve raises his brows.

"The handle's imprinted, right?" Tony sets his drink down. "Like a security code. 'Whosoever is carrying Thors fingerprints' is, I think, the literal translation."

"Yes." Thor stands. "It's a very, very interesting theory. I have a simpler one." He picks up the hammer. "You're all not worthy."

They all start groaning and laughing while I just smile until, a high-pitched ringing sounds through the room. I stand and look around, hearing something coming from the corner, the others haven't noticed yet.

"Worthy." A voice mocks.

Some messed up, unfinished, robot comes walking out and everyone turns now.

"No." He continues as he turns to face us. "How could you be worthy? You're all killers."

"Stark." Steve calls.

"Jarvis."

"I'm sorry, I was asleep." The robot says. "Or I was a dream."

"Reboot Legionnaire OS. We got a buggy suit."

"There was this terrible noise. And I was tangled in... in... strings. Had to kill the other guy. He was a good guy."

"You killed someone?" Steve asks.

"Wouldn't have been my first call. But, down in the real world, we're faced with ugly choices."

"Who sent you?" Thor asks.

"I see a suit of armor around the world." He plays a recording of Tonys voice.

"Ultron." Banner realizes.

"In the flesh." Ultron agrees. "Or, no, not yet. Not this chrysalis. But, I'm ready. I'm on a mission."

"What mission?" Nat asks.

"Peace in our time."

The glass around him shatters into a million pieces and a bunch of Legionnaire bots come flying out.

We all get down as Steve kicks a table up, knocking away some bots. I roll away, getting to my feet as the others fight back as well. A bot comes right for me and I grab it, tearing it in half.

I turn to Ultron and he looks at me. I start heading for him when another bot comes at me. I roll my eyes and just as Tony jumps on the back of one of the bots, I pull him off, taking the rest of the humans away too, confusing the hell out of them before all the bots are torn in half, right down the middle, expect for Ultron.

"You done, Ultron?" I grit.

"God, she's awesome." Nat sighs.

"That was dramatic." Ultron starts. "I'm sorry, I know you mean well. You just didn't think it through. You want to protect the world but, you don't want it to change. How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to evolve?" He picks up a bots head. "With these? These puppets." He breaks the mask and tosses it on the floor. "There's only one path to peace. The Avengers extinction."

Having had enough, Thor throws the hammer at Ultron, sending him crashing into a wall, the hammer coming back to his hand.

"I had strings but, now I'm free." Ultron sings before the lights go out.

"You guys okay?" I quickly get to Tony, who sits on a staircase.

"We're good." Nat nods. "I would ask you but, there's no point."

"You've finally learned." I smirk. "Are you okay, though?"

"Eh, well." Tony sighs. "I'll be fine."

"Or you could go get checked but, noo, you won't do that, will you?" I ask, knowing he won't.

"No." They all answer.

"Exactly."
