"Little Avenger."
I quickly float the scepter to my hand and use wind to push myself up while he watches with somewhat hidden fright. I wave at him before I'm gone flying through the air.
"I took the scepter."
"What the hell, kid?" Tony chuckles. "Where are you?"
"I'm on my way to your tower. Nevermind. Just landed."
"Landed?" They ask.
"I flew." I shrug. "Come on, people. We haven't got all day."
"You're a bossy child." Clint jokes.
"Yes, well, we are being attacked and I'm in a hurry so, let's get a move on."
"Stark, we got him." Steve says.
"Banner?" Tony asks.
"Just like you said."
"Tell him to suit up. I'm bringing the party to you."
"Bitches." I gasp. "You all gonna fight together and I'ma just be up here? Bullshit."
"I think you're good up there." Nat objects.
"When will you learn?"
"Just stay up there."
"Fine." I groan.
"Thank you."
-
It's been, like, two minutes when we hear the aliens all screeching. I get to the balcony, scepter still in hand, looking up to see more of the beasts coming through.
"Oh, no. I'm not staying up here!"
"Yes, you are!" Nat and Steve shout.
I just decide to ignore them instead of arguing. Tony flys up with Clint and they all do as Steve instructs, still trying to stop me while doing so.
I'm in the middle of looking for the perfect moment to jump when Loki lands on the balcony a few steps away from me. He gets to his knees and flicks his hair to look at me with threatening eyes.
"Loki." I greet.
"You." He growls.
I'm about to say something when Hulk comes and punches him through the window, both going back in the building. I hurry in after them, coming at the perfect moment to see Hulk slamming Loki into the floor a bunch of times.
"Oh, damn." I sing.
"Punny God." Hulk walks away, seeing me and smiling. "Little one."
"Hi." I happily wave. "Good job."
He jumps back out, leaving me and a groaning Loki alone. I make my way over to him, waving the scepter around.
"Look what I still got. Y'know? I was a big fan of you before you came here. The God of Mischief. I thought he was so cool. Then, you showed up and started killing everybody."
"You will lose."
"No, what's gonna happen is you're gonna cooperate or I'm gonna put you back to sleep."
"Lily, I need the scepter." Nat quickly breathes.
"Okay."
I press my finger to Lokis forehead and he passes out then and there.
"Where are you?"
"The roof."
"Coming."
I get back to the balcony and push myself up, landing on the roof and handing the scepter to her, going back to keep watch on Lokis surroundings.
"I can close it." Nat states. "Can anybody copy? I can shut the portal down."
"Do it!" Steve demands.
"No, wait." Tony stops.
"Stark, these things are still coming!"
"I got a nuke coming in."
"What?" I breathe.
"It's gonna blow in less than a minute."
"What're we gonna do?"
"I know just where to put it."
"Stark, you know that's a one way trip." Steve says.
"Save the rest for the turn, J."
"Tony?" My voice cracks.
"It's alright, Lily."
"But-"
"It's okay."
I hurry to the balcony with teary eyes as I watch him carry the nuke into the portal, disappearing out of sight.
Every alien and beast falls to the ground, not getting back up. I quickly look back at the portal as I start to cry.
"Close it." Steve instructs.
"What?"
"Lily."
"No, don't close it. He's not back. You can't close it."
A loud rumble comes from the portal and it starts to close, Tony falling through it at the last second.
"Oh, thank god."
"Son of a gun." Steve says.
"He's not slowing down." Thor warns.
The panic comes right back and I hurry to the edge to see Hulk catching Tony while slamming into a building, landing on the ground.
"Is he breathing?" Steve asks.
No replies come from that and I freak out.
"Is he breathing?!"
Hulk roars loudly and I hear a shout come from Tony through the comms, a major wave of relief washing over me.
"What the hell?" Tony asks. "What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me."
"We won." Steve breathes.
"Alright, yay! Hurray. Good job, guys. Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is but, I wanna try it."
"We're not finished, yet." Thor states.
"And then, shawarma after."
-
"Tony." I warn.
"Lily."
"I cannot believe you. Get out of the suit."
"Why?" It opens.
I pull him out and force him into a hug, him grunting from my strength while I hear the others snicker.
"Stupid." I claim. "Idiot. I thought you died, you mother fucker."
"I have never heard a child curse as much as that one does." Clint shakes his head.
"It's a gift." I release Tony.
I drag Loki to the steps before waking him. He turns to his back, in obvious pain, just to see us staring at him, weapons, shields, and hands ready.
"If it's all the same to you..." Loki starts. "I'll have that drink now."
