2018

~~

These have been the worst two years of my life.

I never ended up going home, have been in hiding since the 'civil war.' I haven't seen any of the Avengers since then, neither. Don't know how any of them are doing, if they're okay, or if they even know where I am. I doubt they do, I've been pretty far on the down low.

I found a nice stone house in the middle of nowhere, completely abandoned, and decided I could stay here for however long I need to. Turns out I needed it for longer than I intended.

If I need food, I'll freeze time and fly to the nearest store, having to steal it seeing as, I don't have any money. By stopping time, the cameras don't catch me and neither do the humans so, I am safe. But, I still hate it. I miss my family.

My 'dad.'

He is my dad.

Tony is my true father and I will never take that back. That spot has been reserved for him ever since he took me in, seven years ago.

Seven years.

Wow.

And that was all ruined because, I didn't stop it. Any of it.

I should've stopped it.

-

I am sitting on my couch with my book, having nothing else to do besides this. It's pretty much the same thing I've done for the past two years. I trashed the phone and any other tech I have on me, that stuff's easy to track so, now it's all gone.

Being alone out here is kind of scary, not knowing if or when something is coming. That is why I always have my listening ears on.

Except for when I'm zoned out of course. Y'know how I said that thye had gotten stronger? Well, guess what? It happens everyday now. But, instead of a few seconds, it's changed to a quick couple of flashes and it's gone. I don't know what is going on but, I am definitely ready to find out.

Back to having my listening ears on, it scares me everytime I hear something outside the hole in the wall that I have for a window.

So, when I hear what sounds like several pairs of shoes coming right for the house, you can bet I was fucking terrified.

I quickly and quietly get up and hurry to my front door, hidden from the windows by two walls. Whoever is out there doesn't choose the door but, I hear feet hitting the floor boards, meaning they used a hole.

I come off the door and hide my fright as I step in view. My heart drops at the sight of Nat, Steve, and Pietro staring right at me with small smiles.

"Hey, Lily." Nat nods. "Been a while."

"Shut up." I throw my arms around her neck with happy tears rolling down my face.

She grunts a laugh and quickly hugs back, holding onto each other as tight as we can, without me hurting her.

"God, you've grown." She sighs. "Stop."

"I told you I can't help it." I smile.

I let go of her and force Steve into a hug, too, which he obviously accepts. I hug him tighter than Nat until, I hear him grunt and let go, being sped into a hug by Pietro, making me chuckle.

"Can I ask what you guys are doing here?"

"We got a call." Steve says.

"What's going on?" I let go of Pietro.

"Alien invasion." Nat simplifies.

"Been there, done that. I'm over it. Let's go."

-

We picked up Sam on our way to Scotland to get Wanda and Vision. Forcing Sam into a hug, too that he had no choice but to hug back, as if he minded anyway.

But, dude. Sam and Steve both have facial hair. It's so weird but, it doesn't look bad. Pietros hair isn't dyed blond, full on brunette now. And Nat is blond. What the frack are these people doing with their hair? I love it.

We find Vision and Wanda at a train station being attacked by two ugly ass alien things. I end up killing the man one while the woman gets away, taking her weapons with.

"Can you stand?" Sam takes Visions hand.

He doesn't answer and Sam and Wanda help him up, holding him on their shoulders.

"Thank you, Captain." Vision nods.

"Let's get you on the jet." Steve nods.

We do just that and sit Vision down while Sam takes flight and Nat closes the hatch.

"Now, I thought we had a deal." Nat scolds Wanda. "Stay close, check in, don't take any chances."

"I'm sorry. We just wanted time."

"Where to, Cap?" Sam asks.

"Home."

-

I'm standing against one of the walls, getting lost in thought.

"Where's Tony?" I look up and see a bit of hesitation in their stances, not being able to see their faces. "Where is Tony?"

"We don't know." Nat sighs.

"What do you mean, you don't know? How do you lose Iron Man?"

"How do you not know?" Wanda furrows her brows. "Where have you been?"

"Hiding."

"From?"

"What could you have to hide from?" Vision grunts.

"The world." I shrug. "The government. Anything that could find a way to hurt me. Where is Tony?"

"Missing." Wanda answers.

"How?"

"A spaceship showed up in New York and now Tony is gone. I can only guess that's where he is."

"So, he's in space." I nod as my eyes start to water. "He is lost in space with no way back. That's just great."

"Lily." Steve sighs.

"No, no, it's fine." My voice shakes. "That's just perfect."

I throw myself off the wall and move out of view, in one of the wings, taking one of the seats. Pietro speeds beside me and forces me into a side hug, no complaining coming from me.

"What's wrong with you and Wanda?" I furrow my brows. "I'd expect you two to have been together."

"She wanted time alone with Vision." He sighs quietly. "Don't really like him but, she does so, I can't stop them."

"I'm sorry."

"It's alright." He chuckles. "I have to let her be at one point. Prefer I didn't have to but, sadly, I do."

"Where did you go?"

"Clint helped me out for a little until, I went back to the compound."

"Seriously?" I lift my head off his shoulder with a smile. "No way."

"Yep." He smiles. "He doesn't hate me as much as he thinks."

"Apparently not." I chuckle. "Guess what?"

"What?"

"I'm still not done with you." I smirk.

"Oh my god." He laughs.

"I'm sorry." I laugh. "I can't help it."

He rolls his eyes with a smile and forces me back into a hug. More of a choke hold actually and I just laugh, releasing myself from his hold, getting a hug instead.

"You're so weird." He chuckles.

"It's a gift."
