"They are here!"
The media reporters, cameramen, and staff whispered to themselves when the police patrol's siren was heard within the compound.
The siren was then turned off when the Vellfire that transports Sunny, Adrian and Cavin stopped right at the main entrance door of the convention centre. The cameras didn't stop flashing lights as soon as the door was opened and the siblings stepped out of the luxury transport.
Sunny was one of the most important people for this company's event. This is Sunny's first public appearance after 2 months of caring for her firstborn at home.
When Sunny stepped out of the transport, she smiled widely, and excitement showed on her face. Some more with her attire for the evening, she looks like she is ready for her next step in the business industry as the CEO of Shangri-La Corporation.
The siblings or the public now call them "The Siblings" as they have been featured in several magazines highlighting them as the richest siblings in Asia and one of the richest families in the world in the business industry.
The siblings were welcomed with a traditional National Department of Arts and Culture dance. They were specially invited and paid to perform for the Shangri-La annual dinner.
After around 5 minutes of performance, they all entered the gigantic ballroom that fits over 5,000 guests.
When the siblings entered the ballroom, everyone stood up and applauded for their entrance. Sunny tried her best to smile and wave to the guests present in the ballroom.
Sunny, Adrian and Cavin took their seat at their tables before the master of ceremony introduced briefly about the event that evening. While doing so, a few staff of Shangri-La came to the siblings to ensure they needed everything.
Especially Sunny since she will be giving a short speech for the company's dinner as holding the highest position in the company.
"Ma'am, do you need anything?" Her assistant asked.
Sunny smiled and shook her head, "No. But can I have warm water? I need them before going on stage."
"Sure, ma'am. Right away," her assistant replied before talking to another person on her walkie-talkie. To be quick and efficient, a walkie-talkie is allowed in the company.
Soon, another staff member came with warm water, which Sunny thanked them for. Afterwards, she sent her assistants away and focused on the company's dinner event.
As usual, the protocol was still followed. There will be a part where everyone stands and sings the national anthem and the state anthem. Also, a prayer before the ceremony starts. This ceremony is half formal and half casual.
So, some formalities are followed, and others are not followed. The ceremony itself was planned by the siblings themselves too.
There were some opening performances as well as videos of the introduction. A video about Shangri-La Corporation. Footage of the company's activities and other things.
After the video, the master of ceremony invited Sunny to give her speech and officiated their annual company anniversary.
The ballroom was filled with applause and camera flashes as Sunny got up from her seat and walked up to the gigantic stage. She smiles as she walks to the podium.
Everyone's attention was on her. Cameras were all on her.
Before talking, Sunny gently tapped on the microphone to hear a gentle thud.
"Just to make sure it's turned on," Sunny grinned sheepishly after she did her action.
She cleared her throat before started talking.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to Shangri-La Corporation Annual Dinner, 2026!" She greeted me with full enthusiasm and a wide smile.
She responded with loud applause and also cheers.
She grinned, "First of all, I would like to drop all the formalities because why not? I'm the owner, and I get to do my rules. Please, be casual for the night. I want to thank everyone for being tonight. You might have a lot of other things to do on Sunday night, and I know it rests because tomorrow is a work day."
"Well, guess what for all Shangri-La workers? Most of you have a day off tomorrow. Like we always do every year, a day after our annual dinner is always a day off. So, let's have a lot of fun tonight, ya!"
The ballroom was filled with cheers and applause once more.
"So, anyways. I think this is my first public appearance after I gave birth to my child. I'm back, fortunately. I will continue to become an active member of Shangri-La. You will see me a lot in a lot of official programs."
"You'll see me a lot on television or in your phone. In social media news. A lot. I'm telling you. I have a lot of things to do. Revive the company to be more active outdoors rather than just doing business."
"As we all know, earlier this year, we launched a non-profit organisation called More Than Food. We have started to plan oplanningvities, and thank God, thank the members. We'll be starting the activity at the beginning of next month."
"I hope everyone will give huge support for our program. For those who don't know, More Than Food is our NGO program where we provide food for needy people. We also call its program Cooking For A Cause."
"Statistics have reported that the waste of food we have in Malaysia can feed 12 million people three times. Twelve million people isn't a little."
"Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts started in this More Than Food program way before. Where the breakfast food was still good, we handed it out to people in the streets. Homeless and those who want. We give it out for free. The same with lunch and dinner. But do know we do give out clean and edible food."
"So, I hope everyone here can give big support to our new NGO under Shangri-La Corporation. Please, give a round of applause to the board members. We have all of them at table 7."
Sunny pointed at Table 7, where all the board members of the NGO were seated as the guests clapped.
"We have some smaller units established in a year. Mostly for the NGOs and also for our business. And we have more coming up at the end of this year."
"Some agreed and disagreed with this establishment, but we can try. We have a lot of extra money in hand right now. So, why not try to do something we've never tried? Especially when you have a lot of business friends, it's good to open a lot."
Sunny talked more. But mostly nonsense, but still, people listened attentively. Weird, right? Not nonsense, though. Sunny talked about the company's future and also its history.
Just a short one since she's getting hungry and wants to eat quickly.
In no time, she officially officiated the dinner, and everyone started eating.
