sat along in her room was irang, whose eyes were as puffy as they can be, cheeks tear stained as they glow in a reddish color from all the crying and sleepless nights.
it's been days ever since heeseung broke up with her.
ㅤ
she was stupid to let go of someone as good as heeseung, yes— but hurting him was inevitable. her heart knows what it wants, and it's not heeseung.
not only is she devastated at the fact that her first ever romantic relationship didn't end all too well, she is in despair for knowing the fact that now, she's all alone.
ㅤ
"irang! can you go buy some icecream at 7/11? i'm gonna die in this scorching heat!" irang's mom could be heard downstairs. and as much as irang hated the idea of going outside with her horrible state, she still put on her brown hoodie and stood up.
and yes, she mindlessly wore hoodie in the middle of a murderous summer.
ㅤ
maybe some grass could get me off this shitty feeling. she thought as she walked towards the convenience store nearby, not minding the sweat trickling down the side of her face.
if irang could list the thing she hates lost, that would be solitude and loneliness— which is ironic, basing from her state right now.
no friends, no bestfriends, no teammates, no one. consider that her parents are there, ever-so supportive, nothing can beat the presence of other people she bonded by time, not by blood.
ㅤ
on the other hand, it seems like fate wanted her to learn her lesson so bad because the next thing she knew, she felt her body shiver despite the scorching sun above her.
the view before her glued her to her feet, not even bothering to move an inch of her body nor utter a word.
ㅤ
passing by, sunghoon and byunseo were having the time of their lives, seemingly on a happy summer date while wearing couple clothes that totally matched the both of them. they were clearly a pair, like peanut butter and jam.
oh, how irang dislike peanut butter and jam right now.
ㅤ
they were too busy talking to each other to even notice irang, who— contrast to their optimistic aura— had the gloomiest vibe.
park sunghoon never looked so happy.
"why do you look extra fine today? did you do something to your face? or hair?" irang overheard sunghoon asking... and that only reminded her of their moments together.
ㅤ
...
ㅤ
"why do you look extra fine today? did you do something?" he leaned towards irang and tilted his head, his eyes focused on studying the girl's face that looked more glowing than ever.
irang playfully rolled her eyes before looking back at sunghoon daringly. "no, you're just mesmerized by my beauty hoon."
ㅤ
...
ㅤ
moments that cannot be brought back again. memories that can only be replayed in the arms of another.
there is in no doubt that irang loved to see sunghoon being all happy... but right now she hoped that he was the happiest when he was still with her.
ㅤ
now, irang is all alone, staring at the sweet couple walking hand in hand beside each other, enjoying one cone of icecream together, laughing as if they had their own worlds.
ㅤ
ㅤ
ㅤ
now that irang is all alone, she became a stranger— to her very own boy bestfriend.
