*SERA'S POV*
***I've decided to add in an extra part from the deleted scenes, as i had just watched it today. thought that it might be fitting (and cute) to see Sera being extremely protective of Frodo. Anywho. . . . let's continue***
We made our way to Lothlorien. Aragorn and Athena were in the lead. As we entered, Gimli was speaking to us, his voice in a hushed whisper.
"Stay close, young hobbits," he hissed to us. "They say these woods are perilous! There are rumors of an elf-witch of terrible powers. Those who look upon her will fall under her spell. . . . and they are never seen again!"
Frodo stopped a look of terror on his face, his eyes wide.
"Frodo?" I murmured softly, a gentle hand on his shoulder. "What is it?"
He shrugged and we continued to walk.
"Well," said Gimli in a proud, loud voice. "There's one dwarf she won't ensnare so easily. I have the eyes of a hawk and the ears of a fox -- oh."
We came to an abrupt halt. I gasped as arrows were pointed straight at us. Daisy and I put our hands up in the air in defeat. I had the urge to get out my weapon but decided against it. They'd shoot me if I did.
"The dwarf breathes so loud, we could have shot him in the dark," said an elf who must be the leader. He had long, silvery-blond hair.
Athena and Aragorn bowed their heads slightly towards the elf, speaking in Elvish. Athena's eyes darted around the group of elves.
"You have entered the White Lady's realm," said the elf who had spoken before. "She knows you're here, and there's no turning back." He paused. "Come, she is waiting."
We followed the elf up different flights of steps. Just when I thought my legs were about to collapse, we stopped, reaching the top. My eyes widened when I saw a stunningly beautiful young woman, who had golden-blonde hair that cascaded past her shoulders. Her skin was unusually pale and her eyes were a silvery-blue.
"Aren't there supposed to be twelve of you?" said a male elf who was next to the woman. "Tell me, where is Gandalf? For I wish to speak with him."
There was silence.
"He has fallen into Shadow," the woman answered in her mystical voice. "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Go now and rest, for these borders will be well-protected."
As promised, we were protected from outsiders. Everyone changed into their nightclothes. The elves had prepared us a resting place in the clear fields of Lothlorien. It was so peaceful. You could see the stars. We weren't able to do that during our time in Moria. Why did the dwarves like the dark so much? That would always be a mystery to me.
"A lament for Gandalf," said Legolas. He was holding a silver pitcher, an elf crown on his head.
"What are they saying?" Sam asked.
"I cannot tell you. For my heart still grieves for our loss."
"Go on and sleep, everyone," Aragorn encouraged. His voice was surprisingly soothing for someone like him. "These borders are well-protected."
"I will find no rest here," Athena abruptly answered. Aragorn stared at her in surprise. She was sitting on a bench nearby, glowering at the ground at her feet, scowling at nothing. "I heard her voice, in my head. She says that there is still hope left, yet I can't see it."
"There is always hope, Athena," Aragorn reassured her, and the girl looked up at him, smiling slightly. "Never forget that. Even in the darkest of times, there is still hope."
