Joel's POV:

April 14th 1912, 4:49am, the lower class accommodation.

The morning of the 14th of April I woke up in a cold sweat. Despite sharing a room with Kian and a handful of strangers, our body warmth didn't seem to heat up the room very much. I rose from my bottom bunk bed and inhaled the refreshing scent of sweat and musk. It was true that sharing a room with 3 men wasn't the most hygienic thing in the world.

As I stood up, my reflection from the adjacent mirror came into focus. The mirror had multiple cracks in it and made it quite opaque. My dark hair was wild and untamed, just like every morning. An almost forgotten memory appeared in my mind. My mother used to brush me and my sister's hair for us each morning, often singing the lyrics to a nursery rhyme.

My eyes were bloodshot. I had cried for the first time in what felt like forever. The sheer thought of not being able to see Isobel again tormented my wretched soul. I knew getting up early would allow me much needed time in the 3 provided baths for the third class people so I scooped up my shirt, trousers and braces and headed to the baths.

I soaked in the bath for a good ten minutes, making sure to scrub every single part of my body with the delectable scented soap. Having eaten first class food sure made the provided rice and fruit taste almost horrendous.

I quickly dried off and changed into my outfit. A fat man bashed his obese fist on the door as he wanted to have a turn in the baths. I was very surprised that the door didn't fly off its hinges with bashing like that.

"Urry the fook up ya wee scoundrel." The man said in a accent I couldn't decipher.

"I am! Just putting my britches on. You don't wanna see me naked now do you?" I laughed to myself while pulling my trousers up over my behind and attaching the braces.

"I knew you wa' a sketchy fellow. Thee is American!" He grunted angrily. Why the hell did so many Englishmen have a problem with me for being American. Sure, my accent was pretty thick but I'd been all over and I never really felt attached to the idea of being a full bred American.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm awful I am." A vomit worthy scent make me violently gag. The revolting smell was coming from the other side of the door... He really DID need a bath.

I swung the door open and a bald, fat man glared angrily at me, his fists were curled up into angry balls.

"It's all yours!" I bellowed as I ran down the corridor off to the stairs.

Finally, after a good 10 minutes, I reached the top deck. It was quite the treck up those flights of stairs but it wasn't anything I wasn't used to.

5:14am.

My hair hadn't completely dried because I had been rushed out of the bathroom meaning a cold gust of wind sent a shiver down my spine. I decided that the wind would be my natural hair dryer so I made my way to the front of the boat, admiring the morning dew that settled on the railing of the boat.

Perched alone on the railing, I evaluated my adventure on Titanic so far. It had been such a rollercoaster but I wouldn't change it. I hoped that Isobel would come out and join me but a part of me thought that wasn't going to happen.

I waited for 40 minutes as I soaked up the increasing heat from the sun that gradually rose on the Horizon. A pinkish, reddish hue spread across the sky. 'Red sky at morning, Shepard's warning' but nothing could ruin this, could it?

"Hello, Joel. Lucky to see you up here." A warm familiar voice called out. Without a thought, I turned around and spotted an angel that had been sent from god himself.

Isobel had decided to join me after all. I stared, speechless, like I was in a trance.

Her lips twitched upwards into a comforting smile and her emerald eyes twinkled passionately on her face. She was dressed up in a night robe but she had never been so beautiful.

"Isobel! Im glad you decided to come.. but won't your fancy ass fiancé be angry?" I tilted my head. I didn't really give a shit if that strange asshole was angry but I worried about the aftermath and what would happen to her.

"Well, yes. But I don't mind. I'm sure he will move on quicker than you can say fickle."

I chuckled softly, not taking my eyes off her.

"Hey.. why don't I show you something."

Her eyes lit up.
