Seeing Joel had completely brightened up my morning. His smile was wider than usual so I knew that it had brightened up his day seeing me too.

"Hey, why don't a show you something?"

My eyes widened with predictable curiosity. I had much interest in anything Joel wanted to show me.. He was such an interesting individual.

"Of course."

Joel beckoned me closer but he rested his left palm around my eyes and his right hand entwined with my hand whilst he lead me forward in the direction of the bow of the humongous boat. At first I was apprehensive that he would push me off but he held onto my hand tightly to reassure me that he wouldn't let go.

"Step up. And hold on tightly to the railing." He said. I obeyed and lifted my foot and felt it resting on a railing. He hauled me up and I lifted my other leg up.

"Right, I'm gonna take my hand away but don't look yet, alright?"

"Okay, whatever you say!" I giggled like a little girl as I felt him climb up the railing and stand behind me. He wrapped his hands around me to create a sense of safety.

We stood there for a good minute. The approaching morning sent a rush of wind that tangled in our hair. I didn't dare look. It was too terrifying.

"You can look now. It's beautiful. Don't be afraid." Joel said quietly in my ear.

"Okay. I'll look." My eyes fluttered open and the radiant glow on the horizon danced like the embers of a newly burning fire. The life of a raging fire had begun not only on Earth but in my heart.

The experience was surreal and I felt almost as if I were flying. Turning my head to the water below, the North Atlantic shimmered as Titanic cut through it cleanly like a knife. The ocean seemed to stretch out forever as it met the horizon in the distance. A few clouds scattered the sky and they were tinted a bright pink from the sun's rays. I had never been so far away from England but I had never felt so at home.

"It's truly beautiful." I whispered.

"It is." Joel took his hand from the railings and wrapped it around mine.

"Do you trust me?" He said.

"Yes. I do." I said. Without another word, Joel let go of my waist, took both of my hands and lifted them out vertically. This meant I had to let go of the railing and put all of my trust into Joel. I leant against his body and trusted that he would keep stable.

"Oh my! I'm flying! We're flying!" I cried, utterly speechless. I felt so alive and full of adrenaline. I felt like I could do anything with Joel.

"We are! Isn't it just amazing?" He whispered in my ear as we flew across the ocean blue, united as one. I turned my head towards Joel our heartbeat synced up if our two souls were combining.

Our foreheads touched and I leaned in and kissed his soft lips. I felt no regret or guilt. I had never felt so calm and so at peace with my life until this moment. I realised that I wasn't destined to marry James, but I was destined to be with Joel and leave my sad miserable life behind. Our fingers intertwined like vines growing outward together. This was the feeling I had been missing in my life.
