Isobel's POV

A thunderous rumble scraped along the side of Titanic. I broke away from Joel as the huge ship rattled and shook with fear. Glancing to my right, a colossal iceberg struck beneath the water. The ice sparkled in the dimly lit starry night as huge chucks of ice broke away from the ice burg and skidded along the slippery boat deck.

I shrieked with fear and immediately knew this couldn't be good. But how could it? I thought this was the strongest and largest ship known to man? In my heart I knew something was up.

"Holy shit. What just happened?" Joel watched as the ship shook relentlessly beneath our feet. The movement of the ship shook me back and forth until I almost toppled over until Joel caught me safely in his arms.

"I think we might've scraped along the bottom. We'd better go warn the others. Daddy would ought to know." To my right, a family consisting of a husband, wife and two older boys had started playing a strange game of football with the piece of broken off ice. I tutted, typical of people who stay up this late.

"Daddy?" It was 11:45pm and I knew my father was probably asleep. However, his sleeping pattern had been proven to be most strange so I wasn't surprised to see no sign of him in the room.

I walked onto my promenade deck and spotted my father hunched over smoking on a cigar, thick clouds of smoke snook into my lungs as I inhaled, making me choke violently.

"Daddy! I have to.." I coughed to get the remaining cigar smoke out of my lungs. "Tell you something." I stared over at father but I could only see the back of his head. I feared that he was angry at me so I linked my pinkie with Joel's. He understood.

"What?" He said harshly with a twang of anger in his voice. I wasn't sure if it was the fact that I had burst in at 11 o'clock at night of if he was unhappy for another reason, but he wasn't happy.

"I don't want to alarm you daddy.. but Joel and I were on the boat deck and we spotted the most extraordinary ice berg and the ship seems to have crashed into it."

"We aren't sure of exactly what happened but we know it wasn't good, sir." Joel added. Daddy did not turn around. He was too just smoking his cigar.

"James is looking for you.. again." Daddy said, completely ignoring my warning.

"Oh. If that's all you care about." I muttered angrily under my breath. No thank you for notifying him? Typical.

"Come on, Isobel. Let's go warn Kian and the others in third class. They deserve to know." Joel said in a convincing voice. I couldn't decline.

11:50pm
We made our way down to third class and the corridors were filled with chaos and crowding. We had to weave our way through dozens on panicky and confused passengers until we spotted Kian and a few of Joel's friends.

"There you are!" Joel wrapped his arms around Kian, Kian smiled maliciously at me. I scowled back at him.

"What's going on? Everyone has woken up and I don't understand why." Kian broke away from Joel and scratched his head. Was he that stupid?

"Didn't you feel it?" I questioned him.

"Feel what?" Kian stared at me in total confusion. He must've been asleep.

"He didn't. He sleeps like a baby." Joel said

"Yeah, I couldn't find James so I just went to bed. I was so tired that I passed out the second I hit the bed."

Joel crouched down to get on the same level as Kian and whispered discreetly in his ear. "I don't want to alarm anyone here but Titanic has collided into an ice burg."Kian's face contorted into a mix of shock and anger.

"That can't be possible."

"Well it is. We saw it with our own eyes. It hit pretty hard." I bit my lip. I wasn't sure what the outcome of this would be.

Up ahead, a tall distinguished man shoved his way through third class, occasionally opening doors and pulling something to the ground. Then it hit me like the ice burg did to titanic.

"Everyone put your life belts on!" The voice called.

This wasn't a drill. Titanic was going under.
