Back Malak's POV

"Do you think Zagan is a good man?" I asked Diego, watching him sit and watch me. "I know it's unusual for me to ask if anyone is good or not. I just- I don't know," I whispered while putting on my clothes.

I sat on the floor and motioned him over. "Let me check your head," I hummed, scratching behind his ear. I looked through his fur, seeing the blood that's still on there but no wound. "You're magical, Diego," I giggled then let out a small yawn.

Diego moved from me, causing me to nod my head awake from my dozing off. I laid on the floor, pulling the blanket from the bed. "I'm glad you're back, Diego. You're all I had for this long," I smiled, feeling him move and get comfortable.

"I promise we'll get you some chicken for breakfast. Hopefully Zagan will be nice enough to share some food for you since he was nice enough to rescue you," I hummed, only for him to let out a huff.

"What?" I giggled then pulled some of the blanket over him. "You need a bath too, stinky," I giggled, getting comfy.

At some point, I felt my body being moved. "No," I mumbled, opening my eyes. "Go back to sleep, angel," Zagan grumbled then placed me on the bed. "Diego," I called, turning and see him leap onto the bed.

"Absolutely not. Get down," he ordered. "Can he sleep with me, please?" I asked, placing my hand on his chest. His bare chest... Very muscular. "I will sleep with you," he quickly mumbled then got into the bed.

"Move," he told Diego. "Don't be so mean," I yawned then turned to the opposite side of him so I can feel Diego in my reach. "It's okay, friend. Rest," I softly voiced. He immediately got comfortable and went to sleep. "Good boy," I yawned.

"Malak?" Zagan whispered, wrapping his arms around my stomach. "Yes, Zagan?" I reply, turning in his arms. It may have been dark in the room, but his facial features were clear as day. "Ragan?" I called again, hearing him let out a soft hum.

He pulled me closer then let out a soft sigh. "You know I have to take care of you now, right?" He asked, making me lean back from his warm chest and look at him. "What do you mean? I can surely take care of myself," I smiled.

"No, angel. I have to protect you. You're special to me," he mumbled. I began blushing and getting back into his warm hold. It's like the room has become cooler now that he's here but his body heat keeps me perfectly warm.

Melanin do hold heat longer and Zagan is someone who has beautiful melanin on his body. Very beautiful... As I was dozing off, I can feel that he is wide awake. His heartbeat didn't slow down that will show that he is sleep. "Why are you not sleeping, Zagan?" I asked.

"Why does it matter if I sleep or not?" He chuckled. His chuckle was so soft and quick that I almost didn't lock it into my memories. "Because it affects your health," I informed him while leaning my head back to meet his eyes for the first time. "Sleep until the sun lights the sky and the morning dew rest upon the grass, Zagan," I softly voiced.

He tried to fight his sleep, but before he could fully fall asleep, he placed a kiss on my forehead, sending these weird feelings through my body once again. He pulled me closer then fell into a deep sleep. I soon fell asleep, basking in the feeling of his soft facial hair.

Warm licks on my hand made me open my eyes and see that the sun has barely risen. "Goodmorning, friend," I smiled, patting his head then got out of bed. Zagan was still sleep, making me smile at the rest he needs.

He seems so stressed all the time so maybe this is what he need. I went to the bathroom and washed my hands. "Didn't I promise you something, Diego?" I asked, opening the door for us to exit. "You go ahead and relieve yourself while I get you some food.
