Back Malak's POV

The sound of whimpering made me open my eyes and see Diego cuddled beside me. I slowly pat his head, feeling a painful throb in my head. "Hey, friend," I smile, watching his ears perk up then his head. His tail began wagging, making me smile and allow him to bark out his happiness while trying to lick all over my face.

I looked around and saw that we're in an unfamiliar room. "Hey," I heard Zariya's familiar voice quickly say. I looked in the corner and saw her sitting in a chair, watching me. "You're finally up. I fed Diego already, but are you hungry?" She asked, allowing me to sit up.

"No, thank you. I don't need food, but the taste is amazing," I smiled, getting down. I stumbled, feeling throb in my head begin to pulsate. "Malak?" Zariya mumbled, standing in front of me in a blink of an eye. "Don't worry," I whispered, blinking a few times.

"Do you- uh- know what's going on?" I mumbled, looking around the room. "Just rest, okay?" She said with so much worry laced in her voice. "I'm okay," I assured.

She still sat me on the bed and held my head up. "Of course you are, but your body just went through a rollercoaster ride. You're experiencing a headache and since you're a goddess, I'm sure it's way more severe," she frowned.

"I don't like it," I mumbled. "Do you have any medical book I could read?" I asked. "No, but I can ask Zagan to get you some," she said, causing me to squint my eyes. "I don't want to bother him more," I trailed off.

Zariya rolled her eyes then cleared her throat. "Khalil, can you call Zagan and tell him that Malak requires medical books?" She asked in a shout, causing me to cringe. Her normally talking wasn't helping my headache but now that she is raising her voice causes it to hurt worse. "Sorry sis," she quickly whispered.

I heard a low okay, making me smile and pat my lap. "Diego, you're growing," I smiled as he lay between my legs and rest. A soft knock made us look to the door. "Yes, Khalil?" I answered, watching him come in and take his cap off.

"Uh, Zagan said that he will bring some books," he said with the phone in his hand. "Tell him I said thank-" I started, only for Zariya to cover my mouth. "Tell him that She would like for one of his servants to deliver them," she said, squinting her eyes.

I heard Zagan let out a string of profanities before he agreed on sending one of his servants. "Let me speak with Malak," I heard. I frowned, knowing he's going to rub in how we're not together. Why did I have to like him more than other people? He is- was different from everyone that I've met.

He's a little grumpy but the way he held me and talked to me was different. "Stop battling with yourself, Malak. It's making it worse," Zariya whispered, rubbing my shoulders. "How about we binge watch a show and enjoy some food?" She suggested.

"Will Khalil and Drake join?" I asked. She rolled her eyes then nodded her head. "Diego too?" I asked, picking him up. She scrunched her nose then nodded her head. "He's not allowed on my couch," she quickly added in while leaving the room.

I immediately smiled and picked up Diego. "I guess we're having a movie night, Diego," I hummed, feeling his head lay on my shoulder. I went to sit on the couch, but Zariya cleared her throat. "I know. I wasn't going to disobey your rules," I snickered.

She gave me the remote then told me to pick something to watch. "Here Diego," she whistled, making him happily get up and go to her. He came back and placed a large bone on my thigh. "Where did you get this? And why do it look so fictional?" I giggled, picking it up.

"It's good for him and its last a while," she said, allowing me to give it to him. "Enjoy, friend," I hum then looked up as I hear the familiar sound of popcorn popping. "Zariya?" I called, clicking on a horror movie.
