"Alright, I would like one vanilla cone and one strawberry cone." She said to the kind woman. "Alright, that will be three fifty-eight," she said after handing us the cones. "Here," Zariya said taking the strawberry cone.
I tasted the delicious treat then let out a hum. "I wish you success," I smiled, making her laugh and thank me. "Do you have anything for puppies?" I asked, only for her to shake her head side to side. "Alright, thank you," I hummed.
"I remember you saying that he loves watermelon. Think there is a stand nearby that has them," she said making me smile and hold her hand. "Lead the way," I smiled, letting her guide me to a very old looking stand but they had many fruits and veggies.
Diego's tail hit my leg, making me look down and laugh. "Okay, okay," I snickered then let Zariya buy the treat for him. "Thank you for the treats," I said, going to the trash to throw the cone away. "Wait, you can eat the cone," she laugh, biting into hers.
I bit into mine, making my eyes widen. "This is so good!" I gasped. "There is so much for you to try," she smiled then told me about going to the movies. Sadly, Diego can't go but I know he's satisfied after having a delicious treat with him and food waiting at home.
She had the driver to take him home and of course she threatened him to make sure that nothing happens to him. Me and Zariya continued to walk around and there is so much that people can do around here. It just cost money and I highly don't like that.
But it's part of the economy and apparently it makes the world go round. "There are so many movies we can watch," Zariya said scrolling through her phone. I looked and saw various of movies that will be playing.
I saw that Zagan sent her a text, but she simply ignored it and continued to scroll. "Would you get in trouble for ignoring him?" I asked. "Yes, but right now I'm spending time with you," she said, making me blush.
"I don't want you to get in trouble. Zagan has a temper," I mumbled. "Sometimes you got to sacrifice yourself to make someone happy," she said, making me look at her and bite the inside of my cheek.
"No one ever did that for me," I mumbled, feeling my body shiver in the heat. We somehow walked to the movie theater, making me gasp and pull her closer to the large building. "Pick a movie," she said, scrolling through her phone.
I chose a comedy movie then swung our hands in excitement. "You sure?" She asked, earning an eager nod. She paid then pulled me inside. She got herself some popcorn while I looked around and took in the colorful theater.
We soon got into the room and the screen was HUGE! I've never watched a movie on a screen like that. It was amazing, even though the language was very vulgar. It was still great though.
By the time the movie ended, it started to get the dark and the city started to light up. It was truly amazing. "What now?" I asked, still being amazed by the lights and buildings.
"Zariya!" Someone shout, making us both turn around and see one of the guards that I remember from shopping coming towards us. "Hi, Khalil," I greeted with a wave. "Evening, Miss," he greeted with a bow of his head.
He turned his head to Zariya then folded his arms. "Zagan has been texting and calling you, ordering you to bring her home," he said then took a deep breath. "And?" She sassed. "I- uh. I made her stay with me," I lied, surprising myself.
He pulled out his phone and typed away, giving me the chance to look at Zariya. 'Bad ass!' She mouthed. "Alright, he asks that you be in before midnight. You may enjoy your night, but I have to stay and watch," he said earning a small nod.
I never lied before! This is different. Will anything going to happen because I lied? Maybe it will be brushed off. I just want to continue to enjoy this night and it's been a while since I enjoyed the night air.
"Zariya, have you ever slept against a tree and woke up to birds chirping?" I asked, hearing her immediately say that she's a city girl. "Would you like to try?" I asked. "Hell no," she laughed.
Well, it was worth a try, but I need to spend some time with nature again. "Khalil, can you take Zariya back home?" I asked him. "I am ordered to watch you," he answered. "If it makes your halo shine then I will sleep with you surrounded by beasts and mud," she grimaced.
"I will not make you sleep where you are not comfortable, Zariya," I deadpanned. "Come on, it wouldn't hurt to try new things," she sighs, making me fold my arms and squint my eyes. "Geez, mom," she joked, making me smile and grab her hand.
We were going to walk there but knowing Zariya, I know she's not going to walk the three miles. Once we made it to the designated area, I began walking around, feeling on the trees and taking in earth's aroma.
I was looking around while feeling the trees until I felt one that I know will be relaxing. I turned to look at the tree then smiled. "This one. I will nap here until it's time to go home," I yawned, closing my eyes and rest against the tree.
It did not feel long before I heard Khalil get closer to me. "Miss?" He whispered, causing me to open my eyes and rub them. "It's time to leave?" I asked, earning a fast nod. I felt weight on my shoulder, making me look and see Zariya peacefully sleepy. "And I thought she wasn't going to sleep here," I snickered, rubbing her arms so she can get up.
She jolted awake then looked around. "It's alright. It's time to go," I softly mumbled. She let out a groan and stood up. She helped me up then we dusted ourselves off. "Alright, let's go," Khalil said, allowing me to lead them out.
When we made it back, I made sure to go straight to Diego's room. His room was completed, making me gasp and call his name. He came running around, looking happy as ever. "You like it?" I smiled.
He shown me a toy that I don't remember getting him, so I sat on the floor and began playing with him. He had a small couch, allowing me to sit on it then giggle. "Come here, Diego," I giggled.
Of course he came to me with no complaints while chewing at his toy. I pat his head while just thinking about what happened at Zagan's office. "Do you think I was wrong, Diego? He gets to have hoes but not a single man gets to look at me. I mean I never looked at another man that way, but it just seems so hypocritical of him. I don't want other people touching on him but if he wants them, he gets to have them," I rant to him.
Diego laid his head on my lap, allowing me to scratch behind his ear and pat his head. "I've read that's how this world is because God created man first. I do not like this. Women are not breeders. They have spirits too," I frowned, scratching my eyebrow.
"This world is full of evil, Diego. I'm trying to see good; believe me that I am," I sigh, rubbing my temples. He let out a huff while lifting his head up towards the door. "I will not be used," I mumbled, tapping his side so I can stand up.
I went to the bathroom and started a bath. I slowly slid in and let my body submerge under the water. Peace. Quiet. Calm. You got this Malak. I came to service and took a deep breath. My hair got in my way, so I moved it, so that it was hanging on the other side of the large tub.
"Do not stress, Malak. You've never felt these many emotions before. You don't know how these will affect you," I talked to myself. Despite my coaching, I still felt tears of frustration run down my face.
I let out a sniffle then washed myself up. Diego came in and stood on his hind legs with his front on the edge of the tub. "I don't like crying, friend," I giggle while letting out a small sniffle. He left out, leaving me to these horrible feelings.
Why am I crying so much over this? I could simply leave but Diego loves it here. I can't abandon him. I love him too much. "Ugh!" I huffed, slamming my hands against the side of the tub. "What is going on with me?" I mumbled.
A muffled bark made me look up and see Diego dragging a bag in here. "What's that?" I smiled, sitting up and look in the bag. "Awn, thank you, friend," I smile seeing some pajama shorts and top in there.
