The sails blowing in the wind, the waves very light, the sun dipping over the horizon, line in the water, and to what avail? Enemies, but enemies with the same interest: revenge. It was only a few of us, but I knew it would be enough, all who felt the same, all who wanted the same man to perish in the fires of Hell. Been a long while since any of us seen that lizard prick, had a feeling he was plotting something, but rebuilding what he lost those years ago sounded absurd, right?
Damien: So now that HE'S back, I think we have something to do other than sit back and pray.
Me: Leo, don't tell me again, I already know this shit. I WAS planning on giving Desti that Buster Sword you "borrowed" from that great SOLDIER mercenary.
Damien: Hey, give me SOME credit, I gave it back. After shutting it in your bag, then drawing another one. Heavy thing, too. Got to be at LEAST 50 pounds.
Me: That thing is like a giant kitchen knife, of COURSE it's gonna be heavy. I think Desti can wield it in one hand though, just like Cloud. Except for the spiky anime hair, the foggy backstory, and extreme armor restriction.
Damien: First and third I agree with, foggy backstory, there's not much on BOTH of them. Manipulation and dark manifestation, probably, but hers is more competitive than manipulated.
Me: I see your point. So, how's about we make this whole fishing thing a bet then? 50 bucks for the biggest shark?
Damien: Our lines are for- SHIT! Big bite! OH I GOT YOU NOW, SEA BEAST!!
Just as he started reeling in, my line immediately yanked right to the water, nearly tugging me overboard. I planted both of my feet right on the side of the boat and started reeling for my life as Damien yanked up a not-so-small Blacktip Reef Shark. His gaze at me and laughter made it seem like I was fighting against a tiny fish, but in actuality it wasn't the case.
Me: YEAH YEAH, LAUGH IT UP, ASSHOLE!! I GOT THIS!!
Sprouting my wings and flying up enough to lift the hooked to the surface, I knew as soon as the shark breached surface, I had won this bet. His six foot Blacktip was nothing compared to my 10 foot Shortfin Mako, and right onto the boat I pulled it. I gently glided back down on the boat and laughed wholeheartedly as Damien chucked his shark right back into the ocean.
Me: You didn't even let us compare sizes yet. Are you REALLY that ashamed of being small?
Damien: Dude, fuck you. Now let's get this thing back in the water before anything happens.
Me: Say not a word more.
Flying right back over the endless depth of the ocean right off the surface, shark on the line and rod in tow, I lightly glided my hands from the rod to the thick line. Just a simple hook pull, done it plenty of times. What I was doing was not tugging on the line, but guiding my hand from the rod to the hook, something I've done for many trouts.
I opened the majestic creature's razor-teeth filled mouth and spotted the hook right on the gill-slits, painful for SURE. One tug on the hook, and the shark was free to swim off at no joke 35 miles an hour, pretty fast for any creature. It even left me a souvenir, Bent-Hook Syndrome; it wasn't even a J-hook, it was an I-hook now. Flapping back to the ship, I landed right next to my favorite girl in the world and set myself down beside her, and she wrapped her arms right around my neck and tucked underneath my one wing.
Me: Nervous much, cutie? Don't worry, so long as I stand by your side, you will not be harmed.
Beepie: Well, I mean, we're off to kill somebody who caused so much torment YEARS ago, and I never met the guy. I need a pastry. Do you have anymore in the bag?
