The harsh morning light creeped up on my face and I stirred reluctantly.I gently opened my eyes to be hit with the early morning waves.I stretched full length on my bed only to feel a pain shoot up in my head. The dull headache then spread to all parts of my head and I pulled myself off the bed trying to find a cure to it.
My feet almost found my slippers when the door opened and Rachel clad in one of my nighties walked in with a tray heavily laden with breakfast.
"Oh, you're awake."She smiled setting the tray on my bedside table and picking up a glass of water from it.She handed it to me along with a tablet of Advil and I downed the contents of the glass together with the medicine.
"Thanks."I nodded as she set the glass back on the tray. Then,my thoughts came falling back into place.
I had way much to drink yesterday.
I sat on my bed for a while giving myself time for everything to fall back into place . . .
Jay,
party,
Rachel,
drinks,
home,
kiss.
Oh my freaking God! I could clearly remember pressing my lips against someone, their soft warm lips covering mine. . .
It couldn't be him, could it?
My eyes widened in realisation as I stared at Rachel incredulously,my hand on my lip.
"Na uh,it wasn't me.Jake was here though."She shrugged.
"Oh my God! I've got to go."I moaned trying to get up from the bed.I usually took Mike to Karate class on Saturdays and probably I would get some time to sort things out with Jay if I hurried along.
"Na uh, not until after breakfast."Rachel lectured guesturing to the tray of assorted breakfast treats.
"Thanks, you're the best."I smiled reaching out to give her a hug and enquiring if she was doing fine after yesterday.
"I'm good,I just missed Dad that's all."She confessed and I placed a kiss on her cheeks before rushing off to the bathroom knowing she'd gathered enough zeal to face the days ahead.
In the confines of my bathroom,I splashed some water on my body ,cleaned my teeth and flew out of there to my closet to pick an outfit for the day.I settled on some skinny jeans and a deep -- blue cropped cami top.I topped it off with my Jordans and some loop earrings.Staring at the pretty bright girl in the mirror,I sighed satisfied at my reflection.
After nibbling on a piece of toasted wheat bread and hurrying Rachel out of the house and into the car,we set out.I dropped her at her house fifteen minutes later with the promise that she'd make up with her Mum.
I found myself at the Greene's residence staring at the door minutes after I had dropped Rachel off.
On having finally composed myself,I pressed the door bell. Its sound echoing through the big house giving me the feeling no one was at home.
I heard footsteps and finally a key being turned before a blue eyed lady shot her head out after pulling the door open .I flashed her a bright smile,a bit relieved but disappointed that it wasn't Jay who answered the door,we really needed to talk things out.
"Hi Camilla, come on in."Mrs Greene ushered me into the house.
"I was just about to call you ,Jay decided to drop him off at Karate today." She explained Michael's absence.
"They left barely fifteen minutes ago , You'll most probably meet them on the way."She added.
"Oh no worries,I guess I'll wait on him then.Thanks."I smiled moving back to the door.
