Jay Point of View

Letting out a deep breath I hesitated at the doorstep. I smoothened out non existent creases on my dark blue polo shirt tucked into a pair of jeans ,my mind whirled.
Did my attire send too formal vibes or it was just right, semi casual?
No,I was over that.I trusted Kayla's judgement.She said I looked great.We skyped before I left the house.

I've never fretted this much when picking up a girl from her house.Of course this was different,it wasn't just any girl.It was Camilla  Parker, the girl I'd doted on for the past few months. It explained why my nerves were kicking in ;I didn't want to screw tonight up,our first official date.

Figuring I'd been standing at her door for a while and would most probably seem like a wimp to her neighbours and passersby,I shrugged off my nervousness and lightly hunched up my shoulders.

Dring!

I lifted my hand from the door bell and took a step back, the sound of the bell ricocheting through the halls of the house. The door was yanked open in a matter of seconds and a 6'3 frame leaned across the doorway.

I'd never been more alarmed seeing Benji in my life, this was only her brother...talk about her Dad.I had to tuck my nerves away the last time I had an encounter with her father,God knew how I survived.Benji cleared his throat determinedly and shifted a little so I could squeeze myself through the little space he'd left for me.

"Cami's upstairs getting ready. She'll be down in a sec."He spoke walking back to the adjoining living room.He settled comfortably on a couch and pulled out his game console resuming his game.He nodded to a seat and I slid on the couch next to the one he was seated on.

"You having designs on my sister."Benji said not taking his eyes off the television screen.

"Um, yeah."I nodded not knowing how to exactly reply,if it was a question.

"So where are you taking her to?"He asked tilting the console to his side and cussing at the screen under his breath.

"I'm taking her across town, Rowland's Alley."I clarified.

"Nice location for a first date."He commended and a let out a light smile.

"Thanks."I replied whipping my head from the screen of race cars on noticing an approaching figure.
My throat hitched dry seeing Camilla all dolled up.I instinctively stood up to grace her presence while checking her out .Her make-up was light but outlined her pretty facial features, her moist glistening lips stood out in contrast to her even skin tone and damn, does magnetic honey brown eyes. The simplest of outfits made her stand out as she was adorned in a white tee tied to a knot which rested on her abs, blue jeans and a tiny heart pendant rested on her chest dangling from the chain around her neck.I'd soon replace that pendant...

I pulled my gaze from her body and back to her face once again, where I realised she was equally checking me out.

"You look stunning."I complimented reaching for her hand. She placed it in mine and I marvelled at the tiny volts of electricity it sent riveting through my body.

"Thanks. You're equally look stunning ."She smiled moving my focus back to her mouth . Where did I land such a breathtaking catch?

She let go of my hand for a brief moment to reach for her phone which buzzed in her purse,it left this void in me as the soothe her palms provided disappeared. She shot a text back after scanning the message, looking up at me then smiling.

"Benji, I'm heading out.See you later."She goodbyed her brother stuffing her phone back into her purse.

"Sure thing, stay safe."He advised dropping the console and guesturing for me to stay back.I tactfully loitered as Camilla pulled open the front door and let herself out into the open.
