"𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱, 𝗮-𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹. 𝗯𝗮𝗯𝘆, 𝗵𝗲'𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘇𝘆."- 𝗰𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝘅.

walking out of my door, the humid air hit be like a cloud of smoke. it was almost summer and the weather was already hot and humid. i wasn't complaining i loved summer for the most part but winter would always have my heart.

adrenaline was running through my vines as joão smiled at me. just by seeing him smile made me want to melt right there. he got out of his car and opened the passenger door for me. the car was a very nice sports car. i was very thankful that jasmine did her research on him.

we pulled out of the driveway in a uncomfortable silence. "𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗶 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘂𝘅?" i said. i needed to start conversation somewhere, and that was the only thing i could think of. he took his eyes of the road and nodded his head. he was beautiful.

some boys are attractive while others look like god made them beautiful. i really couldn't believe i let him take me out on a date. he was great at driving, he didn't go to slow or too fast. i plugged in my phone and put my playlist on shuffle.

"𝘀𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴?" the outfit i was wearing would get us kicked out of any nice restaurant in portugal. to be honest i didn't own any nice dresses and we weren't at jasmines so i couldn't borrow anything of hers, a sudden urge of insecurity hit me.

what if he thought i looked ugly, even though i don't know why i would care. he's a random guy from a club and i don't even know who this guy is. "𝘄𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗵𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲." he said. a sense of calmness washed over me.

"𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘅." i said laughing. "𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁." joão said. i don't know why but i was excited for what this good become. i have to be crazy thinking about it like this. it's nothing but a silly date, nothing is gonna happen.

he parked the car at a small little restaurant. it was really cute. the sun was setting and it looked so beautiful, i think this will be one of the memories that i tell my kids. he got out and opened the car door. we walked to the door of the restaurant having a waitress immediately usher us in.

she kept staring at joão trying to stay composed and calm. maybe the waitress was a fan, personally i'm more of a ronaldo girl. we sat down at a table. the waitress guided us to our table and we ordered our drinks. i ordered a virgin shirley temple. i didn't want to revisit last night.

the restaurant was a small italian restaurant. they had little candles scattered all around the place, it looked heavenly. not once did joão take his eyes off of me. "𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶."joão said looking at me. i smiled at the compliment, we both started moving in closer.

our lips were about to touch when the waitress came back, i ordered lasagna and joão ordered pesto. considering the awkwardness after that interaction the waitress spoke up. "𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗶 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗷𝗼𝗮𝗼 𝗶'𝗺 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝗻!" joão got up smiling and talked to the waitress before taking a picture with her.

she handed us our food and went on her way. there were so many things i wanted to ask him. i didn't want to be a fan girl but has he met ronaldo?! "𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂?" i said asking joão. i wasn't trying to be nosy but i just wanted to know.

"𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗽𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗶 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗰𝘆." i gave him a sincere look as i said, "𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱." he smiled back at me. "𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀."

i laughed at the comment. he checked his phone and realized that we had to go because he had practice in the morning. when we were in the car we simply sat in a comfortable silence. joão was very different from most of the guys that i used to go out with.

i never thought i would never break my rule of dating, but with him it felt like none of it mattered. it had only been twenty four hours of us knowing each other, but somehow he could read me like a book. he got me without even saying a word.

putting my pride aside i said, "𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗶 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲." "𝗶 𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶, 𝗶 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀." he said laughing. the time went by very fast and i was at my apartment door. jasmine had texted me thirty minutes ago that she was leaving. so that meant i would be alone.

a part of me wanted to invite him in, but i also didn't want to take this to fast. if we did go another date maybe i would invite him in. as i was about to get out of the car he pulled my arm back into the car. "𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘅." i said laughing.

he put his hand on my cheek and as he was about to go in for a kiss i turned my head the other way. it landed on my cheek. "𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘅, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗹𝗹 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘀." "𝗼𝗵 𝗶 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘀."

we both laughed at the comments we made. i got out of the car and as i was unlocking my door he rolled down his window and said, "𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻." he speed off as i looked around and checked my pockets.

i looked at my phone to see a piece of paper attached to it. i picked the piece of paper up and read it. it said "𝗁𝗈𝗉𝖾𝖿𝗎𝗅𝗅𝗒 𝗒𝗈𝗎 𝗁𝖺𝖽 𝖺 𝗀𝗋𝖾𝖺𝗍 𝗍𝗂𝗆𝖾, 𝖻𝖾𝖼𝖺𝗎𝗌𝖾 𝗂 𝗄𝗇𝗈𝗐 𝗂 𝖽𝗂𝖽." i smiled as i read the note. could he get any better.
