"𝗯𝗮𝗯𝘆, 𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗺𝗲. 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁. 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁. 𝗯𝗮𝗯𝘆, 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁." - 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲.

rain poured on the streets of portugal as ashanti got out of her car. she was nervous to say the least. she didn't know why she was doing this. joão sat in the cafe playing with the hem of his shirt. both of there letters had been read over a million times by one other. it was strange for the both of them.

dear félix,
i wrote this to get everything out. in no way is this meant to hurt you the way you hurt me. i've had time to think, reflect on what happened between me and you. i wasn't perfect at all, but you sure weren't. did you ever think about what you did to me? what about magui? as much as i hate her she had you heart first, and if still has you're heart i'm not mad. i'm not mad at you for choosing her, i'm mad because i meant nothing. if i have to watch you afar i want you to be happy. i hope everything works out for you. i hope you win the world cup, have children, and live a happy long life. i wish i could be by your side every step of the way, leading you to joy and happiness. i will always think about joão. i think i got everything out, i don't know if you'll ever read this. i hope you do. i'll always be here. and if you ever fell like trying "this" again call me, i'll answer.
                  your friend,
                         ashanti

joão stared at the letter in his hand, rereading every word she wrote. he was as nervous as ever. the waitress came over handing him water which he chugged down immediately. he didn't know what he would say to her or what could happen. ashanti pulled her umbrella out getting out of people's way so she could read what joão wrote her one last time.

dear ashanti,
i've read you're letter over a thousand times like it's some kind of scripture. to answer you're question it wasn't about magui, it was about you. i didn't even agree to the "bet" i just wanted out of my relationship with her. the night i met you you made me feel things no one has ever made me feel before. even after you left me in that parking lot alone i felt the way i made you fell. karma got me and bit me in the ass. it took me a while to write back to you because i finally got my shit together. me and magui are done for good. i want you back. the words that i write on this page can't amount to what i feel. you've heard that in every rom com you watch, but it's true. i'll write you for an entire year for one chance to have you back again. i hope you know how much you always will mean to me.
love,
joão

ashanti took a deep breath and walked tnghrough the cafe doors scared. when she went home her mother told her she couldn't runaway (especially not from a rich man). she listened to her mother for once and here she was. she looked for joão and saw him sitting in a seat close to the back.

walking up and pulling the seat out joao got startled. this cause ashanti to erupt into laughter. "𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿." joao said with a warm smile on his face. ashanti had missed that smile so much in the past couple of months.

"𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗻." she said giggling. so ashanti didn't run away, she stopped. ashanti and joão would go to adopt a cat so that way folki could have a friend. they fell more in love with each other. as for magui and jasmine? let's just say there lives are absolute shit.

ashanti would open a business all about helping people. joão still played futbol. they up ended together. happily ever after.
