“Your proposal looks promising. But, what makes you think that I will say yes after all the rejection I got from your firm.”

Napairap ako sa kawalan nang muling magtanong si Code sa pinagpapawisan kong mga representative. Kanina pa siya nanggigisa akala mo ay siya ang professor at estudyante niya ang nasa harap. He's entitled to do that but he's obviously doing this on purpose!

“Sir, we assure you that it won't—”

“I want to hear your thoughts, Mrs. President.” All eyes darted to me when Code mentioned my name emphasizing the ‘mrs.’ word. I want to curse him so bad. Matalim ko siyang tinignan na ginantihan niya lang ng nakakalokong ngisi.

Calm down, Salia. You'll get through.

“Well, Mr. President, as you've said our proposal looks promising and we can assure you that it's a win-win situation for us. And as for the ‘rejection’ history, I also assure you that under my supervision, it won't happen, again.”

Code muffled a laugh before leaning forward, meeting his ocean eyes with my brown orbs.

“Yes, I said promising but not satisfying. You know, marami ang nagkakandarapa na makuha ang Tower ko lalo na noong i-reject ng kuya mo ang proposal ko so I can't easily trust you na hindi mo nga ako iiwan.”

My lips parted as I analyze the words he said. Parang may laman, hindi ko lang mawari kung ano 'yon. He's speaking something I can't comprehend. May ginawa ba akong mali sa kaniya?

I smiled at him. “I am a woman of words. Why don't you trust me this time and I promise you that we won't double-cross besides, may contract naman. The liability is ours.”

“But I told you, I am not satisfied.”
Napatingin sa akin ang mga representatives ko. Bakas sa kanila ang pagkadismaya at takot. Namuntong hiningang tinapunan ko ng malamyos na tingin ang asawa ko.

“Then, tell us what else could satisfy you.”

“You.”

My jaw-dropped with his immediate answer.

“W-what?”

His lips formed a smirk. “I mean, you. You tell me what else you could offer.”

Hindi ko alam kung hihinga na ba ako ng maluwag dahil sa sinabi niya o susuntukin siya dahil sa malisyoso niyang tinginan. I force a smile before averting my gaze to the people watching us. Alam kong may panstasyang namumuo sa isip nila.

“Can you give us a moment, please?” I asks politely. Mabilis naman nila iyong naintindihan dahil isa-isa silang lumabas hanggang sa kaming dalawa na nga lang ang matira sa loob.
Kailangan namin siya dahil kung hindi ay magtatapos sa wala ang lahat ng naipundar ng firm. I have to make him say yes whatever it takes.

“Code, stop fooling around.” I rolled my eyes on him which he answers by his cackles.

“Doll, I am not fooling around. I was actually surprised when your secretary called mine.” He licks his lower lip before continuing, “Well, I was more excited, honestly.”

Hindi makapaniwalang nakagat ko ang hinlalaki ko dahil sa sinabi niya. See, see! Hindi talaga ako sineseryoso ng lalaking ito! He likes playing around. Paano ba naging bilyonaryo ang isang 'to? He's totally unbelievable.
