I'm scared.

I'm always scared that I may disappoint everyone around me and when the night comes, I won't be able to sleep nicely because of bombarded thoughts. My head is full to the point I don't know if I can still make it or not. It is suffocating and killing me.
Doubts and fears make it hard for us.
I won't lie, now that Code makes me happy those fears and doubts doubled. I feel like there is something more of him and us that I couldn't figure out. Everytime he's near, I feel both pain and happiness, well, is that even valid? Nonetheless, I'm in love with his presence. Funny to think that I'm starting to like him even though he was my abductor and take note, I even married him.

Am I stupid?

I don't think so.

Do I already harbor feelings for him?

I am not completely sure but...

...I think I'm already there.

“You know, I always wonder what's going on with that little head of yours lalo na kapag nakatulala ka. Feeling ko kasi may pinapatay ka na or whatever,” Ulysses’ remark was followed by his laughter. Nagkibit-balikat ako.

“You bet.” I teased which made him laugh more.

“Aba, aba. Marunong ka nang magbiro, ha. Ano, may hindi ka ba naiku-kwento sa akin?”

Lihim akong napangiti sa sinabi niya at parang may bumubulong sa kaibuturan kong sabihin sa kanya ang tungkol kay Code. Si Ulysses lang naman ang kaibigan ko, so, it won't hurt if I tell him something about me.

“Bakit ka nga pala napadpad dito?” I diverted the topic.

Para siyang bumalik sa katinuan dahil naging seryoso ang mukha niya at tsaka may iniabot sa akin na folder. Nagtatanong na nilingon ko siya.

“Remember the last case you handled? Iyong rape case ni Buenaventura? I just got some intel that the guy was found dead a month after he got acquitted. Ang sabi, inatake lang ito sa puso but when I investigated, I found out that he died on a poison. It was a clean mess so I was thinking...”

“Why did you even investigate? Pulis ka na ba ngayon?” I interrupted.

He looks at me dumbfoundedly as he fixes his tie. Hindi naman siya mukhang offended but I know for sure he's quite annoyed.

“Salia, that is not what I meant. I figured out that the poison used was being sell in black market, Rosa Silka.”

I almost falter as soon as he mentioned the name. Rosa Silka, huh. I have an idea what he is talking about. Rosa Silka is an illegal site that only deep divers on the internet could log in, hindi basta-bastang nakakapasok ang kahit na sino. Bentahan ito ng kung ano-anong uri ng illegal; varieties of illegal drugs, human trafficking, abuses or even if you wish to kill someone, they will livestream it on that site. Rosa Silka offers all illegal transaction.

My tongue clicked on the roof of my mouth.  “But from the latest news I've heard, it was taken down by the FBI.”

“I don't think so, Salia. Baka nga the government takes part on it. I dived in there last night and that is where I found out the pills used to kill Buenaventura!” he pursued. His agitated expression made me feel like something is not right.

My fist clenched under the desk. What is this guy doing? May idea ba siya na sa ginagawa niyang iyan ay pwede niya pa itong ikapahamak? Tsk.
