"Natsu!" you yelled, running to the guild doors where he was standing. Natsu has been your best friend since you were little. You had just gone on an S-class mission. Yes, you are an S-class wizard, but you're also a Neko. No, you are not like Happy, or Carla, or Pantherlily. You simply have two fluffy golden ears and a swishing golden tail.

"(Y/N)!" Natsu exclaimed, a wide smile across his face. You jumped into his arms, that were outstretched, and hugged him tightly, your claws digging into his vest. You smiled brightly when he started to play with your tail, twirling it between his fingers.

"Natsu~ You know how I feel when you do that~" you purred. Naturally you couldn't help but lean into him as he kept petting your tail.

"Heh, sorry, (Y/N), but your tail is so soft," he smirked, playing off the lie. Natsu has liked you since you were children, but you were to blind to see. You also had feelings for him, yet, both of you can't really... express your feelings.

"Ne, (Y/N), why aren't you ever at the guild anymore?" he asked longingly. It was true. You were so caught up in going on jobs so you could get your mind off him. When Lucy joined, Natsu and her were inseparable, and it made your heart hurt. So instead of making appearances at the guild, you went on jobs. It hurt Natsu, but you knew it would be best for you.

"W-Well... I... Natsu, I can't be near you. I'm sorry," you said, backing up out of his hold, your bangs hiding your eyes. Wow, you thought, I'm bipolar.

"Why?" he asked, his voice pained. You wanted to break down, you hated confrontations. You didn't want to tell him about the Lucy situation, so you just turned and started to walk into the guild. Levy, your close friend, bounced up to you, her mood giddy.

"(Y/N)! (Y/N)! Guess what!?" she exclaimed, her hand out, a ring with a silver gem on it. You saw Gajeel behind her, scratching the back of his neck.

"Geehee, don't go around showing everyone, Shrimp," Gajeel blushed. You smiled a small smile and walked over to the bar, getting Mira-Jane to slide you a beer. You didn't really mind beer, it's just that you don't drink it as often as Cana.

"(Y/N)-san, why the glum look?" Levy asked, sitting down next to you, her arms propping up her head. She leaned forward a little, her lips close to your ear, she asked, "Is it about Natsu?"

You simply nodded and sipped your beer. She huffed and glared at the ceiling.

"You need to confess to him, (Y/N)-san. Or he'll be gone forever," Levy whispered. At those words, you stood quickly, your hands gripping the wooden bar so tight you cracked the wood. Everyone was paying attention to you, their glances not wavering. A dark aura was practically coming off you in waves.

"Levy... I'll be going on another job by sunset tomorrow. I'm not going to confess, nor will I ever. He has Lucy," you breathed, in a low enough voice that only Levy could hear you. You took your hands from the bar, leaving it cracked and splintered, and left through the guild doors, no one daring to follow after you.

You wanted to cry, to scream, yell, to punch something, anything. You had pushed him away for so long and returning to him again was just as painful. Lisanna had stolen him away when you were younger, and now Lucy is taking him now. Maybe it was fate that you two weren't supposed to be together.

"(Y/N)!" Natsu. You ran as fast as your legs could take you and into an alleyway. He can't catch you. It'll only bring painful reminders. As you ran down the alleyway, you pressed your back against a wall, sliding down and putting your head in your hands.
