Being in here with your nakama was all you needed. Natsu was by your side, flames in his palm. A red liquid sloshed in yours. A Bloodblist as they called you. It was the term for Blood Dragons, like Salamander being the term for Fire Dragons. Being a Bloodblist set you up for partially being a vampire. Sure, you got jokes from it, but Fairy Tail never got mad at you for it, they accepted you.

The one person who had stuck with you through the years was a boy named Laxus. You stayed by his side for the longest time, until he started going through his... phase? He was upset about his dad, so he pushed you away for a bit, but you didn't mind. Anytime you spent with him was enough. When you both grew older, both being part dragon, had to go through something called a "Mating Season" and you had found Laxus, who accepted you. There was no way he'd turn down such a bond, it always affected both parties. And so, a year or two after, Laxus and you had gotten married, but... things started to go down hill. He started talking about how Fairy Tail needed to get stronger and how he'd dethrone Makarov. True, you didn't accept it, but you didn't want to make him hate you, so you kept your mouth shut.

But when he started the war of Fairy Tail, that was when enough was enough. You drew the line, you found him at the Cathedral and yelled at him. The last thing you had said to him was that you needed time. It hurt to say it, but you knew it was going to happen. You had left him standing there, his whole entire being shocked as you left with tears. You had returned to Fairy Tail, deciding to help Levy out with the runes. You had some expertise in areas, so it wouldn't hurt to help.

It had been a long while since you had seen him. Now you were at the S-class trials as one of the road blocks, but it got interrupted and Grimoire Heart attacked. It wasn't hard to fight back, since you had the ability to enter someone's bloodstream and affect it. And now, here you were, standing there in front of a man named Hades.

The red liquid in the palm of your hand formed a hardened shell around your fist. You could form weapons with the blood. It wasn't exactly your own, though. It was a mixture of the enemies you had defeated. In a second, you rocketed off the ground, running at a faster pace than one could see. A swift punch was landed on Hades' cheek. He was flung backwards and Natsu jumped in front of you, running after him as well.

What type of monster from the depths of hell was he? You all gave it your best and he only looked like he was scratched by that of a cat. As a wizard on par with Laxus, you couldn't even fathom the idea of winning this battle. You had hope, yes, but mere hope was slipping away at this moment. You needed to see him again. You needed his help again.

You, being much like Natsu, wanted to protect your nakama, so you were the only one left standing. Your body was battered and it was likely that you probably couldn't move. There was no way you'd let him get to Natsu, Gray, Erza, Lucy, and Wendy, no way in hell. A wizard with the power of controlling blood, though, you couldn't get into his stream, you couldn't inflict him internally like you do every monster. This thing didn't even have a heart, at least not in his own body.

"Makarov's brood has such ignorance. Why do you still stand when you have no energy? Answer me that," Hades narrows his eyes at you. You felt a chain on your neck. You coughed but stood your ground.

"I still fight because I can't let them get hurt. Makarov's brood is my family, and I'd happily fight by their side, my life on the line like them," you spat. He tightened the chain and you choked. The chain snapped and you dropped to your knees.
