Christmas. The day that you went broke. Well, not really, but it was a very close representation.Every year Fairy Tail held a Christmas get together and you were in charge of presents, meaning you were most likely going to be broke. That didn't matter much since you could literally counterfeit your own money. Being a Gold Wizard has its perks, y'know? Anyways, here you were, sitting next to MiraJane at the bar, a cup of eggnog in your hand and a scarf tied high enough to hide your nose, which was horribly red.

You were sick. On Christmas. And you were broke. It just keeps adding on, doesn't it? Yet here you were, sitting in Fairy Tail as everyone jovially started to hand out gifts. Out of no where, you felt a peck on your cheek. It was soft, definitely not a guy. You look up, seeing MiraJane smiling sweetly and pointing above you. And of course, there it hung. A mistletoe.

"Be careful where you sit, (Y/N)-chan," Mira cooed, walking away and cleaning a glass. You were used to her sisterly love towards you, but you couldn't help but wonder what she meant. Mistletoe wasn't that bad, a little irritating and maybe embarrassing, but not horrible. Scratch that. Makarov just kissed you on the forehead, but that also wasn't too bad. But what was bad was the oldies, specifically Macao and the other pedo you can't remember the name of at the moment, we're moving in on you. Thankfully, Natsu and Gray were there to fend for you, while Lucy came up behind you and laid a kiss on your hair. Gajeel walked up to you as well, leaving a small kiss on your temple before walking away to a lone beer at a table. Levy walked over and kissed your cheek opposite of the one Mira had pecked. It seemed that everyone flocked to you, all becoming sweet and giving you kisses on the cheek, hair, and temple, sometimes the nose as well. It was really touching and you didn't understand why they were all doing this. They weren't obligated to kiss you in anyway. Natsu and Gray were the last ones to come over, Natsu bending done and placing a sweet kiss over your lips and Gray moving in after him, laying another kiss on your lips as well. Of course they'd kiss you. Hormonic little twenty-somethin's. You giggle and see that everyone in the guild was facing you.

"Thank you, (Y/N)!" they all shouted in unison. Your heart warmed at seeing all of them. Makarov moved in front of everyone.

"We'd like to thank you for the best Christmas you've given us. You've put the spirit back in Christmas by arranging everything. And the kisses from the guild was our thanks to you," Makarov said smiling. Tears filled your eyes and you got up and ran to them, pulling all of them in for a hug. They all welcomed you, even the tsun tsun named Laxus. You were truly one big, happy Christmas family. Even though you weren't connected by blood, you were connected by heart.

And that's what they meant by spirit. You put your heart out for them and they welcomed it.
