~Just When I Hoped For Forever~

You were happy with him, you felt amazing and above all, loved. That is, until he started to come home late. You two shared an apartment together, you and Natsu. You understood, he had a tough job as a bodyguard for the famous club Fairy Tail. He loved his job, and considered the people there as his family. You worked in Sabertooth, you were a bartender and a local singer. The people in Sabertooth were a little tough, especially the boss. He wasn't too nice, he had to be perfect with everything, and if he considered your singing perfect, life was amazing.

You were cleaning the bar for before hours, making sure it was clean before the usual night rush came around. People loved your drinks, the exquisite way you twirled and spun the bottles, the shows you put on with a couple bottles of liquor and the amazing singing that filled the entire club. Sting and Rogue had guard duty and were letting a small stream of people in. Rufus went around, attending the tables and trying to sell items to people. Orga was playing the music pretty low. He was waiting for the crowd to get there. The crowd was what people would call party animals. They stayed from the mid-beginning to the very end, or so you heard. You worked from the beginning till the near end. You wouldn't close up the club, that was the boss' job. But tonight he had to go to a meeting, something about a producer visiting for tomorrow and preparations. Minerva, his daughter, stayed in the back, asking for your help in locking up the club tonight. You nodded, pretty okay with a late night shift.

"Will you let me call my boyfriend? I have to tell him I'll be home late," you told Minerva, she nodded her head and went back into her dad's office, basically hiding away. You called Natsu and went behind the bar, preparing drinks for the people and listening to the ringing on the phone, waiting for the other line to connect.

"Hello?"

"Ah! Hi, Natsu! I'm working a little late tonight, the boss had other business to attend to and Minerva needs my help with locking up the club, so I'll be home late, I'm sorry!" you said into the phone. Natsu sighed on the other line and you heard some shuffling.

"Okay. I gotta go, babe, this guy is trying to get handsy with the bartender."

"Alright, bye ba--" the line ended. You pouted, looking down at your phone. That's odd, Natsu seemed really gruff.

"Whatever," you sighed, going back to your job. After a while of bottle flipping and liquor tossing, you were needed on stage, a couple songs needed to be sung, and since it's your job, you went up and sang. Of course, you sang more than you usually do, since you had the whole night shift, but that wasn't too hard.

Then, the club started to cool down, people leaving drunk off their asses and tired. Once you and Minerva led the last guy out, it was time to close up. You cleaned tables and the bar while Minerva mopped and vacuumed the ground. Soon enough, the both of you were done and Minerva was escorting you out the door, locking it behind the both of you. You said your farewells and began heading home.

When you reached the apartment, you opened the door lightly, hoping not to wake your boyfriend up. You heard a gruff voice in your bedroom, most likely Natsu's. So you went closer and pressed your ear against the door.
