N A R R A T O R

In this world, things are different. There are... unnatural beings. Those who can shape-shift and those who are normal. There are certain types of poachers that capture the shape-shifters and hold them for money. Some are sold, others are killed.

But in this story... an unlikely pair is made.

You and your group of tiger-shifters stayed in your cave, keeping safe from the poachers that lurked at night.

"(Y-Y/N), I'm scared," Levy, a blue tiger-shifter and your best friend, whimpered. You are a (f/c) tiger shifter, the strongest of your group. Not much are like you. Your group consisted of very few people, since the poachers had been kidnapping tiger-shifters.

There was you, Levy, Lucy, Erza, Wendy, Mira-Jane, Cana, Carla (who's a full-blooded white tiger, but can speak), Juvia, and others too. Most of them had been taken, and it was only the few named that was left. Certain shifters have different powers. Some shifters can armor themselves, like Erza, some can channel people from a different realm, like Lucy. But, there was a special breed of tigers, like you and Wendy, who help protect the group. They call you slayers. The ones who protect from the poachers.

You, Erza, and Levy are on patrol, making sure that everyone was safe. You and Erza are the protecters. The main protecters, the strongest, other than Mira-Jane. You are the main leader, the one that keeps everyone and everything in check. You and Levy had climbed trees to get an aerial view.

That's when you saw it. Wendy had left the cave to search for you, but only a few meters away was a poacher. You had to act fast, so you jumped from tree to tree, keeping soundless. When he got closer, you jumped down and held a white dagger. You're a white slayer, the strongest of your kind. As you landed on the poachers back, you held a hand over his mouth and slit his throat. Wendy was getting closer, but you didn't want her to see what you did.

"Who are you?" a deep voice asked. You'd never heard a deep voice before, just high-pitched ones and Erza's regular pitched one. You slowly turned around only to see a wolf, a pink wolf with a pack behind him. Levy had jumped down from a tree after following you and Wendy peeked through the shrub. Erza had heard the commotion and came over as well. The pink wolf shifted before your eyes and a boy with pink hair and onyx eyes stared at you, his pink ears up and listening, a small tail wagging behind him. Your heart skipped a beat when he stared at you. The other wolves behind him shifted too and you could sense a slayer aura, two slayer auras. Wendy stood behind you, clutching your ripped, used-to-be poofy pants. It kind of resembled the same pants the pink wolf was wearing.

"No one you should care about," you told the pink wolf.

"Well, I'm Natsu, Natsu Dragneel, a slayer," he said, smiling. You narrowed your eyes at him. So he's one of the slayers.

"Geehee, the blue haired girl is such a shrimp," a man with piercings above his blood red eyes and black hair said. You glared at him for talking that way about Levy.

"Hey! Leave her alone," you spat at him. He narrowed his eyes at you.

"What are you gonna do about it?" he taunted, getting out an iron blade. So he's a slayer too. You summoned upon your white blade and stared at him.

"I'm gonna fight for my clan," you threatened.

"Then let's make it a fair fight. Shift," he said, shifting down into a gray and black wolf. You shifted too, turning into a (f/c) tiger.

"Woah... you... you're all tiger-shifters..." Natsu trailed off. Levy stepped in between the Iron wolf and I.

"Stop... Please, (Y/N), we have to return to the cave. The poachers are still roaming, Mira-chan can't handle more than fifteen when she's alone and poachers roam in groups of twenty. We're lucky one was roaming by itself," Levy pointed out. You shifted back to your regular self and sighed.

"Alright, Levy. Ne, Erza, take Levy and Wendy back to the cave, I'll take the watch alone tonight," you told Erza. Erza simply nodded and picked up Wendy, Levy by their side. You walked over to a tree and scratched a claw against it, marking it as a place where a poacher was found. They keep getting closer and closer to the cave, and you were starting to get worried.

"Ne, (Y/N), is it? Why are you alone, shouldn't you have back up if you're going against poachers?" Natsu asked. You shook your head.

"No. I go alone, sometimes Levy joins me. I'm the strongest of my group, the leader. I can take twenty poachers when in my half human, half tiger form. I have slayer magic, white slayer magic. My group puts their trust in me and I can't fail them," you said, keeping your voice from cracking. Though you go alone, it doesn't mean you want to be alone. It's scary not having someone with you. Someone to talk to.

"Are you sure going alone suits you?" he asked, peering into your eyes.

"N... No. I-I hate being alone. Although I have to be alone, it doesn't feel right..." you muttered, looking down at your hands. You're just as fragile as Levy, or Wendy. You have to put up a strong front so that way they'll look up to you, but naturally, you're scared. Scared of being captured by the poachers.

Two calloused fingers slid under your chin and lifted your face up. You looked into onyx eyes as his smile made you want to melt.

"I'll stay by your side," he said, a determined look in his eyes. You couldn't help but smile at him. A wolf and a tiger, what an unlikely pair.

~A Year Later~

Everyone from the Wolf pack and Tiger group had become friends and some closer. I saw the looks Levy and Gajeel gave each other. I learned all of their names and they learned ours. Juvia was crazy for Gray, a raven colored wolf.

"Ne, (Y/N), do you wanna go patrolling?" your partner, Natsu, asked. It was already turning to dawn, so it would only be a little while before poachers roamed. You and Natsu had become a couple six months after you met. In fact, he was pretty cute when he asked you out.

"(Y/N), will you... uh... will you be... my girlfriend? I've liked you since we've met and I know you probably don't like me back and all, but I guess it's worth a try. Will you accept my feelings for you?" you giggled at the frustrated face he made in the beginning. He kept stuttering and it made you melt. So before he could utter anything more, you pressed your lips against his, lying your forehead against his.

"Definitely," you answered his question. You could feel him smile against your lips as he leaned in to kiss you again.

"Sure, only if you catch me, though!" you exclaimed, shifting and running out of the cave. Natsu followed behind you, yipping and howling. He tackled you and you both spun together, landing beside each other. You both shifted back and laid there, looking at each others eyes. He moved closer to you and grabbed your hands, bringing them up to his face, kissing them gently.

"Caught you," he mumbled, a smile across his face.

Now don't tell me you didn't think that was adorable! I just died from the kawaii-ness! Sorry if it's short, guys. I was really surprised by this request from my sister. Seriously, a wolf and a tiger? Man, I would've been fine with a tiger and a dragon, reason: ToraDora. But a wolf and tiger? Welp, hope you Zambies liked it!
