Jacob vanishes as quickly as he arrived ranting about having to find Emma. If Emma was on the island she was probably fine, away from the hunters and whatever that thing was.
The group find a wheelbarrow to put Nick in, carrying him to the cabin. He does seem to be looking significantly better, the blood had mostly dried and he didn't seem as out of it anymore. "How are you feeling?" You coo as you help him inside.
"Hungry, I could eat a horse" he jokes.
"Here this should open the nurses station" Ryan hands you a key which you take gratefully.
"I'll get you something to eat" Kaitlyn hums to Nick making a move for the kitchen.
"Dylan and I will head over to the radio station" Ryan adds heading back out.
Abi looks around feeling a little lost before Kaitlyn calls out "Abs why don't you come help me out?"

The nurses station is thankfully quite warm, a change from the breezy night atmosphere. "Where did you get scratched or bit or whatever?" You inquire while fumbling around to grab supplies.
Some painkillers, bandages, antiseptic wipes and some ointment are all thats left of the barren room. "My legs the place it bit me but everything hurts honestly" he winces.
Lifting up his jeans to reveal his mangled lower leg you clean the dark goop away as best you can. "God I don't even wanna know what this is" you mutter "we need to get you real help like a hospital with antibiotics"
Nick chuckles despite his situation. "You're pretty good at this stuff you know"
He grunts when you wrap his leg up with the gauze and you smile sarcastically "maybe I should go into med school"
"As long as you don't do what Emma did to Jake" he retrots equally as saracstic.
You wipe the dry blood away from the other parts of his body and clean the remaining scrapes. Looking at him like this makes you realize how much you'd grown to care about the boy over the past months.
"I'm glad nothing worse happened" you state. He could have been killed, the reality of the danger seemed surreal.
"Me too" he teases with a tired voice. The reality seems to dawn on him as well "I don't even know what happened it's all a blur" Your expression turns to one of sympathy, he notices your dampened mood asking "how are you holding up?"
"I- I don't know I'm the one who should be asking you" the words come out in a stutter.
"Well I'm doing okay thanks to you" he gives a half smile.

Kaitlyn and Abi return with the 'food' although what's left of the food seems to be a signle bag of chips and some water.
"Looks like you patched him up good" Kaitlyn says approvingly.
There's no time to respond as the ceiling begins to tremble. Someone or something large is above. "You hear that too right?" Abi squeaks.
"I thought Dylan and Ryan left" Kaitlyn whispers.
"I can go check it out" you offer with a renewed sense of serenity. Seeing Nick recover had given you peace of mind. It was all going to work out.
"No you've been through enough I'll go" Kaitlyn insists.
Sharing a tense look with Nick you shrug and remain seated.
➵
It isn't long before Kaitlyn comes back looking fearful and out of breath.
"What happened? Jesus where's the gun?" Nick asks, jumping out of bed.
"Should we hide?" Abi chimes in nervously.
"No we've got to get out" Kaitlyn argues still gasping for air.
"Window!" You point and usher everyone towards escape, before you make it a strong hand grasps a handful of your hair.
Letting out a panicked noise you try to reach behind you and pry the hand away. Seemingly futile you look around to see Nick turn back from the window. He rushes at you aiming for your captor. Having to defend himself from the rouge counciler the man releases you and you dash away, you hear Nick growl "she's mine!"
Surprised by the aggression in his voice you cast a glance over your shoulder to see him choking the stranger with a single hand. Oh my god.
After a few tense moments he drops him and helps you through the open window. You didn't know what to think of what you just saw, Nick was never an aggressive person. That was strange and what you felt even deeper in your gut that you knew was probably wrong- it was attractive. That was definitely something to worry over later though, now was not the time for deranged hormonal thoughts.
Rushing through the dark misty night you stumble around with the group in search of the radio tower. Before you can actually get there Dylan sends out an 'announcement' that shoots fear into your veins. "Don't come any closer there's an animal, get inside now!"
Looking to the nearest building the four of you run to safety. The dangers seem to just keep piling up.

Kaitlyn stays on guard at the door only opening it at the sight of Ryan and Dylan up ahead. "Is it safe?" She hisses to them.
"I think so- for now" Ryan shrugs. His face is plastered with blood, the third person you'd seen coated in red tonight.
Peeking around the door at them you see Dylan standing there dazed. His whole body, especially arms, are also blood soaked. That's when you see it or the lack thereof it. His hand was missing.
"What the fuck happened?" You gape subconsciously having moved towards them.
"Oh uhm" he stammers "I'm okay- I mean I'm not but, but it's okay cos' it doesn't hurt" he was definitely not okay.
"You're in shock" you realize out loud, all the nurses training really had come in useful.
"Did that thing do that to you!?" Kaitlyn gasps with wide eyes bugging out at her limbless friend.
"No." Ryan answers for him "well sort of it-"
A gunshot disrupts his explanation making everyone whip around in the direction of the sound. And now we're getting shot at? Just great.
