"As a reminder to all students, graduation will be held in two weeks. It is recommended that all students meet with their assigned counselors on what needs to be completed before graduation. Have a good rest of your day students!" The intercom switching off echoed through my mind as I sat blankly staring at the wall. Graduation. I was on track to finish with a bachelor's in music but with everything going on I had forgotten about graduation. This would complete my 4-year study and then the anxiety filled question came. What am I going to do after graduation? Continuing studies would just prove that I was too scared to actually try pursuing a career, but I honestly had no clue what to do. It was obvious that I liked singing and was good at performing but was I good enough for a company to sign me on? What about Yoongi? What was he going to do? What happens to us after graduation?
"Alex? Hellooo Alex?" I blinked at the hand waving in front of my face and turned to face a smiling Yuri.
"Back from La-La-Land?" She giggled as I rolled my eyes.
"Yuri, what are your plans after graduation?"
"Oh, that's easy! I'm moving in with Jimin! Since him and the guys got signed on at some company, I'm moving in with him to kickstart my fashion business." She smiled confidently at me.
"Aren't you going with Yoongi? I figured you would, and you could sign to the same company. Though Jimin said it's just a small private company that not many know about yet."I sat with a blank expression. Yoongi got signed to a label and didn't tell me. I had heard all of them wanted to, but no actual plans were made yet. It was already set in stone and given that they would be big due to the color of their eyes, but you couldn't help but feel overwhelmed and forgotten. Everyone had plans and were leaving you behind. Even Jay had his tattoo career and big plans to open a new shop on a busier and wealthier side of Seoul. You were being left behind and you didn't like it. You were angry at Yuri for not considering you when she came up with the plan to move out since you were only bunking with her and it was her family's house, you were angry with Yoongi for not telling you he was signed and could possibly be moving away. You were mad at yourself because it seemed like you were stopping all of your friends from pursuing their dreams.
Abruptly you stood up causing Yuri to look at you in shock as you trudged out of the classroom by yourself. You avoided the guys as you left campus and aimlessly walked through town. Tears threatened to spill as you tried to fight them back. You had turned your phone off because you knew that Yuri would call you and Yoongi would too after finding out you left school. You were lonely and nothing was making it any better.
"Miss! Excuse me, miss!" You heard heavy quick footsteps behind you and someone calling for you as you whipped your head around to face a lanky older gentleman in a business suit running your way.
"Can I help you, sir?" You tried to sound as polite as possible and hide the fact that you had been crying.
"My apologies but I saw you about a block back that way and I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Dong-Hyun, I'm a talent scout at JYP Entertainment. We are currently looking for models and you have the look we were hoping for!" He bows and smiles before handing me a business card.
"You have such beautiful violet eyes and a unique edgy look that would fit our company well. If you would like to meet with us about this opportunity my name and number as well as the front desks office is on this card. I hope to work together in the future." The man bows again before rushing back the way he came. You stare down at the card he handed you. JYP Entertainment?! You've heard of them and their artists. They were a leading competitor in the music and modeling industry, but you never thought in a million years that you would get scouted especially not while walking down the street during a depressive episode. But did you actually want to be a model? You had been going to school for music and have always been told you were good at it but now you were being offered a modeling job for a well-known company. Maybe you weren't meant to sing, or maybe this is just a step towards that. First a model and then when you're already in the company, show them your talent. You turned your phone back on sighing and waited until the flood of notifications of everyone trying to find you stopped flooding in. You sent a quick text to the group chat and headed towards BamBams club, might as well get a head start for working tonight. You also wanted Lisas opinion on the situation. It might make things easier getting an outside look at it and what you should do. You knew Yoongi had to be their tonight as you usually worked on the same days as them since BamBam liked to have his best performers in the same night as he put it. You didn't know how to act or what to say to him, but you were still angry. You looked down at the business card in your hand in thought. "If everyone else is moving onto their dreams then I will too. I won't let anyone hold me back or stop me, I won't be left behind."
You called and scheduled to meet with the scout that stopped you and one of the higher ups in the company. The man from earlier seemed ecstatic that you had called so quick, as if his job depended on you calling for the modeling gig. It's a step in the right direction, you thought as you walked in through the doors of the club. BamBam and Lisa were behind the counter of the bar cleaning glasses and laughing with each other. At least some relationships last.
"Why so down?" Lisa slung the towel she had been drying glasses with over her shoulder and laid her head down in front of you looking up at you with expectant eyes. You silently pulled out the business card from your pocket and slid it towards her.
"JYP?! That's an amazing company!" She sang out as she showed the card to BamBam.
"Awww man, they're gonna take away my best female singer!" He threw his head down onto the bar pouting earning a smack from Lisa.
"I didn't get scouted for singing. They want me for a modeling position." I said as I sipped the glass of water I had grabbed from behind the bar.
"Still. It's a good way to get into the company quick, you can show them you'll be an even better asset to them later on. But why do you still look so sad?"
"Yoongi and the boys got signed to a label."
"That's great!" BamBam yelled.
"A label on the other side of Seoul. One that I'm not signing to, and he didn't tell me. Yuri let it slip, he has been hiding it from me."
"That's bad." Lisa frowned as she slid me a shot of vodka. I nodded in agreement as people began making their way into the club and the lights dimmed signaling it was time to get to work.
"Hey Alex." Lisa called to me.
"Follow your brain not your heart on this one. If the universe is separating you and Yoongi, it's probably for the best. Don't follow him if he couldn't even bother to tell you something this important. Not everything is meant to be." I nodded at her while looking down at my feet and headed back towards my dressing room.
