Sunny woke with a start when a foreign object plummeted onto his stomach.

Groaning and rubbing his eyes, he attempted to sit up, making the "foreign object" tumble into his lap.

"C'mon Sunnyyy, get uuuuppp!" The "foreign object", which upon blinking awake, Sunny noticed was his little sister, Mari, spoke sweetly.

"M' up, m' up..." Sunny grumbled, shoving the 12-year-old off as he swung his legs over the side of his bed. "What time is it?" He complained sleepily.

"Time to stop sleeping, that's what time it is," Mari replied, attempting to smooth out her (still messy) hair and nightgown, which had been messed up when her big brother ever so rudely shoved her when she was being so helpful.

Sunny rolled his eyes and got up out of bed, stumbling over to their dresser to grab a pair of shorts, a clean t-shirt, and a pair of socks.

Mari hopped off of Sunny's bed and ran up as well, moving around the teen to grab her outfit of choice for the day as her older brother left the room, already dressed and moving downstairs to get them both breakfast.

When Mari came into the dining room, Sunny was already eating, gesturing to her usual place beside him, with a bowl of her favourite cereal already waiting for her there.

"Thank you, Sunny!" His little sister replied, sitting down in her place to eat.

"So do we have anything planned today?" Mari asked expectantly, hoping to remind her sometimes (rarely, but Sunny was still sleepy) forgetful big brother of the plans that they did, in fact, have for today.

"Uhhhh..." Was Sunny's response. He didn't think they had anything planned, but now that Mari's brought it up, he knows they do. He just couldn't remember what that was exactly.

Mari sighed and shook her head, giggling slightly. "We're supposed to meet Kel and Hero today in the park for a picnic?" She reminded.

"Oh, right. Alright, let's hurry up and get ready then." The black-haired teen replied, standing up once he'd finished his breakfast.

"Mhm," Mari affirmed as she continued eating.

Sunny put his dishes in the sink and went back upstairs to their shared room, digging out Mari's picnic blanket and basket. Picnics weren't really his thing, he enjoyed them, sure, but he was more a 'stay inside and chill' kinda guy. But they were Mari's favourite activity, and who was he to say no to his precious little sister?

"Sunny! Before you come back downstairs can you help me brush my hair?!" The aforementioned little sister called from downstairs, having finished her breakfast.

"Yeah, c'mere and I'll do it for you!" Sunny yelled back, or as close as he could get to yelling, at least. The boy never had a particularly strong voice, and he didn't really like using it but did anyways out of necessity.

In a few seconds, Mari hurried into the room and crawled up onto her bed, sitting cross-legged as her big brother grabbed her brush and sat down behind her.
