Mr. and Mrs. Vasquez had no idea what happened. Seems every time they look away one of their kids has gotten into something, but it normally never happens like this. Usually, one of their boys is roped into helping someone or another with some odd jobs or errands, Kel's been known to get himself into trouble now and again, and with their daughter Sally being as young as she is, she was bound to get into some baby shenanigans as well.

This time, though, the boys seemed to be at each others' throats lately. Neither parent knew who or what started it, but it was starting to get worrying. Of course, it wasn't unheard of for siblings to fight it was a normal occurrence, but not with their boys. Kel and Hero usually got along quite well. Sure, they'd tease and annoy each other, but it was always lighthearted.

For the past three days, though, they've been not-so-subtly casting each other dirty looks, shoving each other around when they thought their parents weren't looking, hurling insults at each other, et cetera.

Neither parent knew what exactly to do, whenever they asked either of their sons what was wrong they insisted they weren't acting any differently than usual, and whenever they were caught fighting, they exchanged somewhat insincere apologies and then went about their day.

Deciding they were fed up with the boys fighting like middle schoolers, they instructed both Kel and Hero to stay home while they took Sally out for her doctor's appointment. While they were gone, the boys were to stay in the house and finish a few chores. That way, they would hopefully be able to sort out whatever was wrong on their own. Hopefully.

So now Kel and Hero were in the kitchen, doing the dishes. The former had taken the opportunity to annoy Hero on purpose, while the latter attempted to ignore it.

Keyword: Attempted.

Hero finished washing another dish and passed it off to Kel, the younger taking it so that he could dry it.

"...It's still dirty," Kel spoke, pointing to a spot on the plate that had been handed to him.

Hero sighed frustratedly, looking over at the plate to investigate.

"That's just a part of the plate, Kel. It's not dirty," Hero ground out through his teeth, that had been the sixth time Kel's said the same thing and his patience was wearing thin.
