Warnings: Spoilers, Swearing, Sunny's still got a few issues to work out :(, Poor boy, His partners will help him though :), Baby's sleep schedule is royally fucked, Slightly based on my own experience with insomnia and medical issues, Luckily for him he's got three lovely partners here to keep him alive and well, They would all kill and die for him, And vice-versa, The four of them are adults and live together because yes, And because Aubrey has a shit home situation and a shit family, I mean so do all of them to some extent but Aubrey and Sunny had the most desperate situations considering Aubrey was living in a bio-hazard and Sunny was literally ditched by his only parent for a fucking furniture sale, Left with $30 even though his mother was well aware he would not leave the house even if it meant death, I feel like Kel is absolutely the type to call people 'dude' and 'buddy' even if he's in a relationship with them, On the other hand Aubrey definitely calls people 'babe' and 'honey' and 'sweetheart' platonically, Though that's not relevant here because all four of them are in a relationship here lol, Basil should be arrested for cute crimes, He's the one partner who says the most sickeningly sweet things with no hesitation no matter how cheesy it is, The others can't even pretend not to love it, Kel has ADHD, Sunny's autistic, Basil's got both, As a neurodivergent with both I can safely say that I picked up several symptoms in all three, Aubrey might be the only neurotypical in the household but even then I'm not sure, She gives me a certain vibe I just can't place it, I've diagnosed Sunny and Basil with unspecified medical issues based on in-game dialogue and scenes because I can, Specifically the throwaway line from Kel about Basil having a weak stomach, And Sunny's random fainting spells, Among other things, I mean I have both of those things and came out with a POTS diagnosis so theoretically I could specify I just don't want to, I headcanon characters with random physical and mental illnesses based off of throwaway lines way too often lol, On that same note the cheese dialogue from Headspace Kel in the Otherworld Junkyard made me headcanon him as lactose intolerant but that's irrelevant to the story as well, Dark humour because that's my favourite way to cope with trauma, Sunny and Basil are both lovely human beings they're just scary and intense sometimes XD

Sunny opened his eyes, squinting in the blinding sunlight as he heard voices carrying from downstairs.

Sighing, he sat up and rubbed his eyes, attempting to wake himself up at least a little.

He never considered himself a light sleeper. In fact, he was the exact opposite, but insomnia was a bitch. He wound up staying up until around 3:00 in the morning drawing in his sketchbook under the light of his desk lamp, determined to finish what he was working on before going to bed, and then finding himself completely unable to sleep when he did finally crawl into bed to try, only falling asleep at around 4:00 am. Even then, he hadn't managed to fall into the same deep sleep as usual. He was exhausted, but he and his partners were going out for a 'special day' today, and he couldn't just bail. They were all so excited, and so was he, he couldn't ruin it by falling asleep.

He got out of bed begrudgingly and put on slippers, going downstairs and sitting at the kitchen table in his usual spot next to Basil, resting his head on the blonde's shoulder.

"Morning Sunshine! How did you sleep?" The gardener asked, resting his head on his sleepy boyfriend's.

Sunny simply hummed in response. All three of his partners were always easily concerned by his habits, encouraging him to work towards a better schedule and better habits to improve his physical and mental health, but the blonde, easily being the most neurotic of the four, was also the strictest with enforcing healthy habits onto his partners. The hypocrite had just as many unhealthy habits, which funnily enough, included ignoring his own needs for the sake of helping the others.
