- Connie -

"I'm telling you; he had no idea who I was. Not even a flicker of recognition!" Connie was pacing in her small hotel room, not sure how to feel about the day she'd had.

Fiona's voice replied from her phone on speaker. "Well, that's a good thing, right? You have been nervous for over two months now. Worrying if he would. Now you know, and you can focus on the job."

Connie had been nervous. So nervous in fact that before work this morning, she had thrown up and had to brush her teeth five times to feel fresh enough to leave. She sighed and slumped down on her bed. "I know it is, but... For some reason, I feel kind of offended by it".

"Maybe because you can't get that kiss out of your mind, and he was probably too drunk to even remember it?"

"Probably..." Connie agreed. She didn't want him to recognize her. Did she? No, she didn't. Her brain felt as if it was getting whiplash from her thoughts and emotions going back and forth. There had been a moment when Sky looked up at her, and she had thought for a moment that he might recognize her. Her heart had been hammering inside her chest and she had forced her knees to keep her up and her face to stay neutral. But Sky had looked away, and she had been able to breathe again. She had no idea how she would have reacted if he had recognized who she was, or rather what he had done to her. She was even more curious about what his reaction would have been. Would he think that she was some kind of a stalker fan? Would he be repulsed? Or worse, would he be indifferent? Was kissing strangers something he did so often that he wouldn't care who she was at all?

They stayed silent for a moment but then Fiona hesitantly asked, "When are you working with him again?"

"Friday. Jackie wants me to tag along at a press conference. They are releasing dates and locations Friday morning."

"Oh, how exciting!" Fiona exclaimed. "Wait... Do you already know?"

Connie smiled at the suspicious tone in her friend's voice. "Yes, I found out at the meeting today."

"Tell me!"

"I can't remember them all, but I know that Dubai was on the list. I think it was in September."

"Damn, I am so jealous of you right now!"

"And I'll be home in Dublin for a concert on the sixth of June." Connie knew she had saved the best for last when a squeal came out of the phone's speaker. She continued before Fiona had a chance to recover, "I talked to Jackie and it won't be a problem to get you backstage for that concert."

When her statement was met by silence, Connie wondered if Fiona had passed out, but just before she was going to ask if she was alive, Fiona replied with a choked voice, "I love you so much!"

"I thought you would like it." Connie picked up her bag from the floor and took out all the different papers she had gotten during the day. "Hey, didn't you have that interview today?"

"I did. I think it went well. It's an entry-level position so it's not the best paying job, but I would get to learn the TV industry from scratch."

"With your stubbornness, I wouldn't be surprised if you work your way up soon enough."

"That's the plan. I hope. They said they will contact me before the week's over, so cross your fingers."

There was a knock on the door and Connie turned off the speaker and placed the phone against her ear. "My dinner is here so I got to go. Got any last advice?" She opened the door for the pimply kid who was carrying a tray. She gestured at him to set the food at the coffee table and handed him his tip before he left with a smile and a small nod.
