Back at the nest
Hiccup sat on his throne contemplating what Toothless said. The setting sun shone through the large opening of the throne room. Phoenix and Shadow-mist were the first ones back.
"Anything?" he asked hopefully.
"Nothing yet my queen but we will continue to search tomorrow." Shadow-mist said.
Suddenly, Moon came bounding into the room.
"Mama, I can't find Star!"
"I'm sure she's here somewhere dear."
"She's been missing since after lunch!"
At this information Hiccup got down from his seat and went to find Toothless, the others running behind him.
Toothless had been on one of the west side cliffs watching the sunset. Hiccup ran up to him.
"Toothless Star has gone missing. We need to find her." Hiccup panted.
Everyone started searching the island for Star. During the search they realized that Alic was gone as well. They searched every nook and cranny around the island until the early rays of the sun showed on the horizon. Shadow-mist plopped onto the ground crying in anguish about her lost daughter. Everyone tried to keep her company as she cried. The sun rose on a day that Hiccup and Toothless feared. Losing one of their subjects.
Somewhere close to Berk
"Alic, are you sure we're going the right way? All I see is fog." Star said as she carried Alic across the ocean to find the dreaded land of Berk.
"I'm sure it was this way. The Queen said it was east of the nest. I'm sure of it."
"But Alic, it's getting really dark and hard to see. Also, I'm tired from the flight." All of a sudden, a large pillar of stone appeared in front of the duo and Star frantically swerved only to come across another pillar. Unable to slow down, she slammed into the pillar and fell, twisting in the air so that Alic wouldn't be hurt too much, skidding down a hill and into a tree where they stopped. Unraveling themselves from each other, they looked around.
"Alic, do you think this is Berk?" Star whispered. The night had long since overtaken the land and creatures sounded in the dark. The woods where they landed was deep in shadow.
What this young human and young dragon didn't know, was that since the disappearance of Astrid and the Deadly Nadder that had taken her, the villagers had taken up arms and patrolled the forests and fields of Berk day and night. This particular night, Snotlout had take the lead. As he and the small troop marched through the forest, swords and shields up, loud crashing came from the cliffs. They marched toward it to find a gold and white dragon and a young boy. Snotlout held up his sword to halt the vikings. All he saw was a dangerous creature with a scared little boy. He thought of hiccup and rubbed his thumb across the scale tied to his axe.
"This one's mine, go around and search for more intruders." The vikings nodded and marched off. Snotlout saw red as he snuck up onto the dragon, intending to save the boy. As he got closer, he heard a series of growls and gurgles. The boy repeated the growls. Snotlout ignored this, though in the back of his mind, he thought they were actually talking to one another. He raised his axe to strike the dragon down when suddenly the boy cried out. The dragon whipped around and slapped the axe out of Snotlout's hand and surrounded the boy. The dragon hissed as the boy jumped onto its back and flew off. What did Snotloud just see? Surely, that boy didn't willingly jump onto a dragon's back. Was he going crazy after all this time? Was he finally breaking down? Left behind on the ground was a gold dragon scale. Snotlout grabbed it and his axe and returned to the village. That boy reminded him of hiccup when he was younger and Snotlout was determined to save the boy from whatever brainwashing that dragon did to him. He would kill every last dragon to get to that boy and protect him and any other humans. This is the goal of a viking.
