Toothless and Battle-axe silently flew around the island, trying to find a safe place to land and find their friends. Everywhere they looked, the fire was spreading. The rain, now slowing down, doing nothing to stop its spread.

"Firefreez's left wing is singed but it seems as if she's not in danger of dying." Astrid said, riding atop Battle-axe and checking on the unconscious black dragon behind her.

"Thats good, but how do we land? And what about the rest? Where are they?" Battle-axe said.

"Perhaps they went to the caves east of the island. It would be sheltered from the wind and rain and the fire couldn't touch them because of the surrounding stone." Toothless called from above.

"And what about that roar we heard, my king. I know you recognized it. The smell of your fear was almost overpowering the rain."

"Silence Battle-axe." Toothless growled.

"My king? What is this about?" Astrid questioned.

Toothless sighed and explained the long story as they headed for the caves. Knowing that this would cause much anger he had to come clean.

"My king, how many other people know about this and your encounter?" Astrid asked, steaming.

"Only Abygail, Otem, Artemis, and Orion. They were trying to help me explain it to Hiccup but never managed to pull it off."

"Well why didn't you tell him? He and your subjects could be in danger because you couldn't tell him." Astrid said angrily.

"You think I don't know that girl? I have put everyone in danger now because that roar earlier was him. He is going to kill all the humans on the island, including Hiccup and destroy my eggs and Valka's hatchlings." Toothless growled angrily.

They silently landed above the caves and placed Firefreeze and the now unconscious Logi on the grass and looked over the edge. A large glowing red night fury tail hung out one of the largest caves. Crying could be heard inside. Low chortling dragon laughter was also heard.

"That sounds like Shadow-mist. You don't think he's hurt one of her daughters do you?" Battle-axe said quietly.

Toothless was too angry to speak. He ran off the cliff and flapped directly behind the giant night fury. Gathering lightning from the receding storm, his body crackled with energy and he took in a deep breath for a large blast. Before he could release it, the giant tail slapped him against the cliffside, knocking the breath out of him. Before he blacked out, all he heard was his loving mate, Hiccup calling his name.

Hiccup tried to not look at the night fury behind the giant one in the cave. He watched as his mate, the love of his life, powered up for a blast. But before it could be released, The giant night fury, Bloodthroat, swished his tail and knocked Toothless out of the sky. Hiccup ran to the edge of the cave and looked down, crying out for Toothless. He saw the night fury crash into the cliffside and fall onto the rocky beach below.

In a fit of rage and grief, Hiccup ran forward with a hidden dagger and tried to stab the night fury who took out his love. A simple swipe of his paw made hiccup go flying. Against the far wall. Moon and Star gasped and raced to help their queen. Their mother, Shadow-mist cried over a silver white monstrous nightmare body. Blood spilling on the floor from the bite on his chest. The two terrors, Talia and Shimmer, trying their best to stop the bleeding. Boulder standing to the side, one paw in the air, blood dripping from the gash. Meatlug, Otem and Orion held their wings out, hiding Alic, Abygail, Fishlegs, and Artemis from view of the titan wing. Valka and Cloudjumper stayed at the back, still hiding the hatchlings and eggs.

"Now that the pests are out of the way. What do we do with the humans and filthy eggs?" Bloodthroat growled to himself. "My other nests should be here soon, then we can really have fun. There will be plenty of females for my strongest sons." He chortled, staring at the three night furys, helping the injured.

Above the cave still sat Battle-axe and Astrid. They looked at each other, knowing that they could not hold off an entire horde of night furys.

"We need help." Astrid said softly.

"Where do you suppose we get this help, my love? Most of the humans hate dragons, the dragons hate humans. We're on our own." Battle-axe said sorrowfully.

"No, there's one place we can go. But you won't like it. And it very well might get us killed, but we have to try."

"You don't mean..." Battle-axe trailed off. Astrid nodded.

Behind them, Logi began to wake. Sitting up, she looked around and saw the fiery carnage that surrounded her. She saw Astrid and Battle-axe in front of her, they growled back and forth with each other.

^They're probably talking about me.^ she thought.

Astrid noticed Logi, now sitting fully and looking around.

"Thank the gods you're alright. Logi we need your help." Astrid said happily. As she explained what had happened, they ran to the armory. Astrid had Logi quickly fitted for a sword and gave her a bow and a quiver full of arrows. As well as a second bow and quiver for Artemis, hoping she could get him out without Bloodthroat noticing.

"Are you sure, miss Astrid? I don't know if I can do this?"

"Listen Logi, we will worry about what happened with you later, right now we need all the help we can get. Now, grab that rope and when he's not looking, get Artemis out of there so he can help you defend. He's great with a bow and arrow. Battle-axe and I are going to find help."

"Where are you going?"

"We're going to Berk."
