"Star, did you get those herbs I needed?" Alic called from his lab within the tower. He looked out the window at the beautiful dragon below.

"Not yet, I'm almost done. I was just putting the fishnet out." She called back.

"Oh, I almost forgot about that. Thanks Star." Alic responded.

Star grabbed the remaining herbs she needed and flapped to the large window of the lab. As the duo continued to experiment, a loud splash was heard. Both ran down the tower and out the door. Reaching the cliffside, they looked down. A large animal was splashing around within the fishnet. Quickly, they reeled in the net so they could free the creature.

The creature dangled there, letting out moans of pain and terror. Star and Alic looked at each other in shock as they realized that it was a dragon caught in their net. Alic reached up to calm the dragon. Something whizzed past his cheek. A moment later a searing pain reached his face. Alic cried out as he stumbled. Star reared back and roared at whatever had hurt her friend. Behind her was a young girl, holding a bow. With wide eyes she rapidly began to reach for another arrow. Star charged at her in rage. Out of fear the girl dropped the arrow and reached for it, shakily trying to reload.

"How dare you hurt my friend." Star roared. "You will be punished!"

"Star, wait." Alic yelled. The dragon stopped just short of the girl. "She was trying to protect the dragon. She didn't mean it." Star turned to look at her best friend. Just as she did so, the girl brought out a knife and sliced Star's leg scales. Surprise froze star as the girl bolted to the tangled dragon and cut her free.

"Please wait." Alic called as the dragon wrapped around the girl for protection. "We don't mean you any harm, either of you. If your running from something we can give you sanctuary. You can talk to our Queen and King.

"Like I'd trust another human." the dragon growled.

"But you can trust us." Alic responded. The dragon looked taken aback.

"You can understand me? I thought humans were unable to understand dragons." the dragon said.

"Here, we make it a point for humans and dragons to understand each other. We are a paradise for humans who love dragons and for dragons who love humans. We even have mixed couples here who are happy." Alic explained.

Again the dragon looked taken aback, "Humans and dragons breeding? Is that even possible?" Alic's only response was a nod.

The girl who had been listening to a seemingly one-sided conversation looked at Alic. "Can you really understand dragons?"

"Yes and you would both be welcome here." Alic said, holding out his hand. The girl looked at his hand, and slowly reached for it. Suddenly, loud flapping could be heard and another night fury jumped down.

"What was all the noise about?

"My apologies, my king. We found these two and were just about to take them to you." Alic said.

"Well then," Toothless said sitting up. "You, human what is your name?"

The girl stood frozen in place at the black dragon before her.

"Well, I asked you a question, child." Toothless growled.

"Forgive her, sir. She does not understand dragonese." The dragon spoke for her.

"I see, Alic. Will you  please ask the child's name?"

"Of course, your highness." Alic turned to the girl. "His majesty would like to know your name."

"Um," She girl's voice shook. "I don't really have a name."

"Well what does your dragon call you?" Alic asked.

"She calls me what the villagers used to call me, I guess, Logi. But-"

"But, what?" Alic frowned.

"Nothing." The girl whispered.

From behind the king, four other individuals stood watching.

"Your highness, may I take the girl and her dragon to the infirmary to check them over?" Artemis called.

Toothless nodded in agreement and retreated to his nest on the far side of the island. Artemis walked up to Logi and her dragon.

"Follow me, I know it's scary but it's actually alright here." Orion walked behind the group as Logi mounted and they set off to the throne room.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make him angry." Logi mumbled.

Abygail, who had been traveling beside them with Otem stepped up, "He wasn't angry dear, his highness just didn't know. It's not your fault."

At the throne room, the group stopped in front of the two thrones and waited for Talia to fetch the Queen from his nest.

As Hiccup came down the stairs and sat on his throne, Logi became more fearful. The boy had scaled scattered around his body and he looked angry. Out of habit and fear She whispered, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it." The whisper, which was meant to be quiet, echoed loudly across the silent room.

"Little one, what have you got to be sorry about? You've done nothing wrong." Hiccup spoke calmly.

"I'm sorry." She mumbled.

"Dear, it is alright. You are safe here." Hiccup said. He stood from his throne and walked over to the girl. "Both you and your dragon are very beautiful. You would make great additions to our growing kingdom."

Her fear growing, Logi squeezed her dragon behind her for comfort.

"I see you are still afraid, Talia will you please check them both over. Abygail, once they're done can you show them to a nest for them?" Hiccup asked.

"Yes, your majesty." They said in unison. Talia guided the two up the stairs and to the medical nest to be looked over.
