"Is he gonna be alright, mama?" Young Tyr said, cuddling the blue night fury for comfort.

"I don't know, child, now be quiet and take your nap." Chusi said. She wrapped the boy with her wings where he slowly fell asleep.

"What happened, Fire-cloud, you caught him, did you see what happened?" Valka said, looking at the silver nightmare.

"I thought he was bleeding, he must have reopened his wound." The nightmare said. His white glowing eyes gave away his concern.

"You said he was new, right?" Fishlegs asked Astrid.

"Yes, he crashed here. No one knows quite yet what happened but I saw him out in the forest earlier, he made a bow and a few arrows."

"Oh, so he's a crafter."

"No, I don't think so. See, he was on one side of the forest and he shot an arrow into a tree on the far end."

"So he has good aim. That's not really anything special, Astrid. Maybe when he's better you can ask him to join your army."

"That's not all, he shot a second arrow, that second arrow split the first in half. He's not just good, Fishlegs. He's one of the best archer's I've ever seen. I'm definitely going to ask him to join my army but there's something more. I remember stories my parents told me about some of the older villages. I believe one of them was a village of master archers and swordmasters."

"Do you think that's where he's from?"

"I can't be sure until he says, but if I'm right, that village does things to dragons that would be considered horrid, even for other dragon-hating villages."

"Astrid, he came on a dragon. If he hated dragons, then that dragon would have never let him ride it."

Astrid thought about Fishlegs' words. If they were right, then that boy came from a horrible place. And if that were the case, then they should put a ban in that direction. Sadly, that would be two directions they could not go to for safety reasons.

"We'll need to come up with other ways to find people who support our cause if this keeps up." She mumbled.

In The Medical Nest

"My love, they are very beautiful. What should we name them?" Hiccup cooed at his mate. Hiccup, still in a bit of discomfort from the birth, smiled.

"Don't you think they should hatch first? Just so we know their personalities?"

"If you wish, my mate. Everyone is gathered in the throne room, waiting to see the nestlings. Do you want them to come in a few at a time to see?"

"Not right now, Toothless. I'm quite tired."

Talia flew past, carrying towels to and from the next room. Poor Shimmer, trying her best to keep up.

"Talia, how is the boy, I was told he collapsed." Toothless asked.

"He reopened his wound and started bleeding again. I fear he will need bed rest for at least two weeks to ensure this doesn't happen again." Talia said quickly, "Shimmer, more towels and warm water."

"Yes, ma'am." The little terror shrieked.

They raced through the nest throughout the night, making sure the three patients were comfortable.

As dawn drew over the secret oasis, Artemis woke. The first thing he saw was his best friend, Orion, standing over him. The dragon's eyes were red and irritated, but it was clear that he could see.

"My friend, you have awoken. I will get Talia." He rushed away and returned with the purple terror.

"Good, you are awake. I feared you wouldn't."

"What happened?" Artemis mumbled.

"Well, it seems that, while you were out, you reopened your wound and you bled a lot. Truth be told, I don't think you should go back out for a while. I'm restricting you to bed rest. At least until your wound is mostly healed."

Artemis was too tired to object. At least he got in a bit of bow practice. He scratched his scar, thinking about what was going to happen after he got out. Artemis wasn't much of a people person and the only dragon he wanted to be around was Orion. He slowly sat up, with Orion's help. The window in front of him was open and, outside, he saw an orange horison that was slowly getting bluer.

Two weeks passed, Artemis was finally able to leave the medical nest, but with limited movement and he wasn't allowed to leave the vicinity of the medical nest. Orion's eyes had mostly healed so he carried Atremis out for some fresh air. Outside, Star, Alic, Tyr, and Shimmer played in the grass. Alic ran while the others chased. They laughed as they collided together. Near the slowly growing village, Fishlegs and Meatlug walked around, watching Boulder and Fire-cloud move heavy objects and building more nests. As they watched, Fishlegs wrote down things he observed. On the west side of the island, behind the throne room,Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, and Battle-Axe cleaned out the caves. Removing old nesting material and replacing it with new, probably for the three new eggs.

"Beautiful, is it not?" Orion turned so Artemis could see who was speaking. Valka and Cloudjumper came out beside the throne room.

"Y-yes, quite. What... What is this place?" Artemis asked.

"This, my friend, is our secret haven. A place where we can be free of discrimination from those who don't understand."

"I understand that." Artemis responded sadly, he patted Orion's head.

"Tell me young Artemis, where do you come from?" Valka asked.

"That... is a hard question. I come from a place that despises dragons, yet, I do not. I come from a place that kills and eats dragons, I never could. I never truly belonged there. I do not wish it to be the place I come from. Sadly, I cannot help where I was born."

"While that may be true, any friend of dragons is welcome. If you do not wish to remember your origins, think of this as your new start, your rebirth."

"Would I be welcome here? If others found out where Orion and I came from, would they accept that I rejected that life for my best friend?"

"Of course, We welcome all who share our beliefs. Anyone who is willing to listen and care for a dragon is welcome in this paradise we call home." Hiccup said, walking up to the conversation. "What matters here is that you chose this life. We don't care where you came from. We don't ask for your past to be accepted. Rest assured Artemis, you are welcome."

"Thank you, your highness." Artemis said. Orion carried the boy to one of the fields and laid down in a patch of dragon nip. Artemis got off and walked around, enjoying the lushness and freedom that came with this new land. He sat down beside Orion.

"Orion, do you think people will miss us back at that place? I know there were a few people who cared. But my father, will he allow people to mourn for me?

"Artemis, boy. How do you feel about your father?"

"What kind of question is that? I hate him, of course. He made my life miserable. He made the village unbearable to live in because of his ideals. He believed that men should wield swords, and women wield bows. When I couldn't wield a sword right, he'd hit me. When I could wield a bow, he'd whip me. The scars I have go much deeper than the whip markings on my back. Much deeper than the scar on my cheek. If there's even a chance to get rid of the evilness in the world. I'd take it. But there will always be evil. When one goes down, another will take its place."

"You sound like me." A quiet voice spoke from behind the two individuals.

Artemis turned around to see a small girl. Behind her the grass moved as if something stood behind her but nothing was there.

"You know nothing about me and my life. I'm sorry, but there is no way you could know how I feel."

"I think I do." The girl sat down beside Artemis and told her story.
