Abygail yelled out for Logi to stop, it was no use. The storm was too loud and the duo were too far away.

"What just happened?" Astris said.

"Logi. Mama, is she really gone?" Star said.

The entire throne room had stopped when Logi burst through the doors with Firefreeze close behind her.

"I'm sorry, but did I miss something?" Artemis said, staring at the door. He scratched his scar in confusion.

"Astrid, Battle-axe. Go get her, it's not safe for her out there. I'll join you. Fire-cloud and Boulder, work on the plan and try not to argue. The rest of you, If we don't return by dawn, send search parties out for us but only the strongest flyers and no humans or children. I'm looking at you two Star and Alic. Neither of you are to leave the island." King Toothless commanded. "Hiccup, my love. I leave you in charge. Orion, Otem. Keep that door shut until we return." The black dragon jumped off his throne and followed Astrid and Battle-axe through the doors and out into the raging storm.

"Be safe, the three of you!" Hiccup called as the doors shut again.

"Poor child, maybe it was the chaos from the arguing?" Shadow-mist suggested.

"Perhaps, but we won't know until they return. Let's all just camp out here until the blunt of the storm subsides. Then we can-" A loud crack of thunder interrupted Hiccup as fiery wood rained down on everyone. The dragons lifted their wings as one to protect the humans and younglings.

"Get to the caves!" Hiccup yelled. He and Valka grabbed the nestlings and eggs and placed them in the saddle pouches of Cloudjumper. The humans jumped onto the backs of their dragons, Hiccup with Valka and Cloudjumper, and all raced to the caves on the east end of the island. The caves would be facing away from the storm so they would be safe and dry for all the inhabitants of the island.

"The throne room! Mama, why is this happening?" Tyr cried. Chusi wrapped her wing around the boy and comforted him.

"Still think we should've stayed and built that wave-break?" Boulder growled at Fire-cloud sarcastically.

"Whatever, we still evacuated anyway, are you happy we went with your plan?" Fire-cloud growled back. The two dragons stood face to face, ready to fight.

"This is no time to be arguing. We need to keep together during this time." Hiccup yelled, facing away from the cave entrance. He scanned the cave to count heads. Suddenly, the cave became very dark.

"I like the Idea of being together." A deep growl behind him chortled. "I don't believe we've met human. I am Bloodthroat. Father to your king and future father and king to your subjects."

Hiccup turned around to see a very large titan wing night fury. Larger than any one he had ever seen. He was pitch black with glowing red and orange scales dotting his body. The dragons crouched down in fear at the creature standing in front of them. Just the power emanating off him was enough to shut up the two dragons who were ready to fight. Valka and Cloudjumper hid the eggs and nestlings from view, knowing what would happen if this monster saw them.

The dragon bent down to growl into hiccup's ear. "I found you." He chortled.

Toothless POV

I flew through the pouring rain, making sure to keep Battle-axe in my sights at all times. Who knew what would happen if I lost more subjects. The rain had not eased since we left the island and the thunder and lightning was relentless. Cold white light lighting the sky was the only light we had to go by. Staying just under the clouds we followed the quickly fading scent of dragon and human mixed with fear. Flying as fast as we could so as not to lose the scent, we could see a tiny dot on the horizon only when the lightning struck near it. Firefreeze was a fast flyer, and with a human on her back, she was still faster than I.

"My king, we need to hurry, the scent is fading and I can no longer see them." Battle-axe called from behind. Before I could respond, A loud roar, louder than the echoing thunder, rang through the sky. My eyes dilated, I knew that sound. I flew faster trying to catch up with the two fleeing subjects so that I could turn around to my kingdom that was about to fall. The dot slowly grew into a blob, then a shape of a dragon. Lightning was striking almost constantly. I watched as a bolt struck one of Firefreeze's wings and they plummeted toward the sea. I dropped, folding my wings in, trying to be faster than their falling to at least catch one of them. I reached out to grab the human. I pulled her in and spread my wings before I would hit the water. Firefreeze splashed into the water and sank quickly. Battle-axe wasted no time in plummeting in after her. They resurfaced a moment later, with Firefreeze slung over his back.

"We have to return, now!" I roared. The child in my claws was crying, repeatedly apologizing, what for, I didn't know. We raced back to the island. A glow on the distant horizon. I had been hoping that it was the rising sun and the fading storm. But I couldn't have been more wrong. The entire island, Including the throne room where everyone had been sheltering, was on fire.
