"He hates humanity" Reid comments
"Or he loves torturing" Rossi accurately mentioned
"Moon, thoughts?" Hotch asked since she hasn't said anything all-day
"Sadistic probably," Madelyn said trying to focus
"Okay... Madelyn and Reid go to the dump site, Morgan and Rossi go to the victim's home, Emily talk to the parents in the sheriff's department, and JJ and I will analyze the other victims" they all started to leave fallowing Hotch's orders when he says "Moon" they all left her, she felt like she was in the principals office "what's going on?"
"Nothing Hotch"
"You're not focused, I need you at your best"
"I'll try harder, I promise"
"Just, whatever is going on in your head, put it in pause, there's a case"
"I know"
"And if anything happens call me, ok moon?"
"Oh, okay dad, can I go now?"
As always the car ride was silent. This time Madelyn was the one driving, and that was good because Reid was more focused on why Madelyn was acting like this than anything else.
"You okay?"
"Oh, yeah why?"
"You're acting different"
"I'm not"
"You were late"
"I'm human"
"Twice, you also haven't brought tea, or eaten anything and you don't eat much when your stressed"
"Reid, I'm fine"
With that Spencer let it go, he wished he hadn't, even more, when she called him Reid. The only time she called him by his last name was the first time they talked but after that, it was always Spencer.
They didn't get much from the dump site. But when they got back the rest already had half the profile. Now Madelyn was making herself some tea while Emily approached her.
"Isn't it crazy?"
"What?"
"Yesterday we were talking about a guy with electrical superpowers and today we are back at normal monsters"
"Normal?"
"Yeah, your right, there's nothing normal about this guy" with that Emily walked away
"That's not what I meant"
The unsub turned up being Gary Henderson, a white dude, with a blue-collar job, with 2 ex-girlfriends with restraining orders. Catching him ended in a fight between him and Madelyn so she was in the plane with bruises forming, a slight cut on her forehead, and one on her lip also she was holding an ice pack on her left side.
"Sure you feel okay, Moon?" Derek asked worriedly
"I am, the doctor cleared me anyways" Madelyn clarified
Suddenly Madelyn's phone rang and she looked at the screen and smiled at the name
"Hey pen"
"You okay? Hotch said you were hurt? I hate him even more, answer, are you okay?" She said without a breath
"I'm okay Pen, you can breath"
"Well, what happened?"
"He was huge"
