14: Interview

When Madelyn woke up she looked at the ceiling for minutes before she heard a noise. It wasn't loud, barely recognizable actually but she left the bed grabbing the gun on the night bed and when she opened the door holding her gun up she saw Lincoln holding his foot next to the kitchen drawer. She lowered the gun and left it on a table as she approaches the kitchen. Lincoln finally looked up after hearing Madelyn walk past him.

"Nice hair"

"I hate it, but without it, I'm even more recognizable"

"Well I think you look good"

Madelyn took a can from a drawer and started eating out of it. No tea in the house, she just had to get used to it. Lincoln watched her in silence as she had just eaten.

"They know by now" Madelyn commented

"Yeah they do, how are you?"

"I'm fine, I found Alisha, she is in Vegas"

"She's okay?"

"Yeah, she works in a bar, lives in an apartment, bad one though in a bad neighborhood, under the name of Jenifer Saltov"

"Good"

Yesterday:
As the cámara shut off the team watched the back screen without a word. The silence was constant, the video didn't have any audio but they didn't need that. She was comfortable with him, she laughed, and she was even a bit attracted to him. Nothing good went through their minds.

Penelope: what the hell

Hotch: how did this happen?

Derek: What have you been dragged into?

Emily: Madelyn doesn't fall

JJ: how?

Spencer: why? How long? Maddie, please stop, please stop

Gregory: found the woman

...

Madelyn came in through the BAU doors after a free weekend for what felt like the first time in ages. To her surprise none of the team was there, she was sure that they were coming. She went over to her desk to dart working on some files when Spencer appeared behind her.

"Hello," Spencer said with a smile that made Madelyn turn and smile as well

"Hi"

"So I was thinking about what you said on Friday, about birthdays, so don't be mad"

Madelyn just looked at him confused as he stretched his hand as she took it. Spencer led her to the breeding room where she saw a purple birthday cake with happy birthday written on top of it. The typical colored triangles hang on the ceiling, and around the cake are very colorful bags of presents. And the whole team, smiling at her, started to sing happy birthday to her. She just smiled and looked at Spencer who had joined the chorus. She looked back at the team as she approached the cake and when they finished singing she blew the candles

"Harper come on you are going to be late again" Freddy screamed from the door

"I'm late because you always take too long making breakfast"

"Come on!" Harper finally arrived at the door with the bed in her hands and they got in the car.

There wasn't any silence this time. The radio started as soon as they turned on the car and it didn't stop until they arrived at the high school.

"Remember"

"Don't let anyone see what I can do, keep my head down and don't draw any attention I know"
