Hitting Berry stirred quite a riot.
The armed men immediately pulled out weapons.
However, Berry motioned for them to lower their weapons. He then wiped blood off his nose. "My dear Raven, you pack quite a punch...for a woman."
"Don't you 'dear' me, you expired fruit can. Just show me to my father or my next punch will take your stupid nose right off."
Berry glared. "Very well, if it's your father that you want to meet, then you shall. After all, I can't wait to show you to your new home."
He got up and both Jamie and I followed him. Men in black trailed behind us, making sure we didn't sneak off. Jamie was sweating profusely while I took dark rouge lipstick out of my purse and applied it.
"I don't think now's a good time to be applying lipstick when your freedom is about to be stripped." Berry said, over his shoulder.
"You're just jealous I look better in red," I smirked.
He rolled his eyes and then continued on. In the basement, there was a long, wide tunnel built that we walked through. It was extremely dark, except for the light coming from the torch Egg Beater held. The hisses of rats and the sounds of dripping water could be heard.
Finally, at long last, we arrived at a dungeon. Inside, sat my father.
There was a look of shame on his face.
"Raven, is that you?" He ran forward, dropping to his knees and grabbed the bars.
"No, it's an illusion," I told him, sarcastically.
He slumped to the ground, hopelessly. "I knew it was too good to be true."
"Of course it's me, you jackass," I snapped. "First of all, how could you sell me?"
"Raven. Please understand this from my perspective. I did it to save my life."
"No, you did it because you're a selfish prick," I retorted. "A part of me just wants to let you rot to death in that prison."
"I suppose I deserve that," father said, ashamed. He may sound ashamed but I bet he isn't truly ashamed of his actions. He's probably relieved someone came to bust him out.
Berry looked at his rings, bored. "Throw her in the dungeon. Kill her pet."
"Wait, what?" Momentarily, fear disappeared from Jamie's face. He was mad. "Pet? I'll have you know I'm no one's pet. If anyone's the pet, it's your torch holder. And your cronies. They do everything you say. Why, I bet if you told them to bark like a dog or lock themselves in a dungeon, they'd do it. No questions asked."
The men begin advancing on them.
"Run!" squeaked Jamie. He grabbed my hand and bolted.
"What are you doing?!" I yelled. "I can take them on!"
"No you can't, there's too many of them!" Jamie yelled back.
"The guy from the church gave me powers, including super strength, to hunt demons. I can use my abilities against them."
Jamie rolled his eyes. "Oh please, the church? They don't give. They take."
It began getting darker. I let go of Jamie's hand. Which wasn't hard, since his hand was very sweaty. It made sliding out of it so much easier.
