(A/N: From now on, Jamie will be referred to as Arthur/Artie since that's his real name!)

*Raven's P.O.V*

"Derek?!" I thundered, incredulously. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"It's my house so I can walk wherever I want," Derek replied with a smile.

Jerk! Although it was a valid response. Still...

"But for real," he began, running a hand through his dark hair, and sighing. "I'm here to apologize. What I said back there...that was uncalled for. My frustrations are with my brother, not you. So I'm sorry."

He sat down next to me, on the stairs.

I won't lie...Derek was quite handsome. But totally off-limits! After all, he seemed like the type of guy who would only consider pursuing relationships with rich women. And I did not qualify as one.

"Well, you're forgiven," I said, facing him. He had these beautiful piercing dark blue eyes that one could get lost into until the day that they die.

Hmm...I'd rather that he would have given me a public apology at the dining table, in front of his douchebag mother, but I guess a private one will do for now.

"I'm sorry about your father," I told him, gently. I was pleasantly surprised that I even managed to speak in such a soft tone. Soft and Raven don't mix.

Derek shook his head, looking at the floor, as if thinking of some bad memory.

"We were never close."

This made me curious.

I wanted to ask more but then my damn stomach grumbled.

Derek laughed.

"Well, it looks like you're hungry. Shall we go back to the dining table? I promise the food isn't as bad as my mother's behavior. Also, I don't want you to pass out from hunger, because it looks like any second, you might drop dead." He said, in an amused voice. Although, his face held no hint of humor. He then extended his arm out for me to hold onto.

"We shall," I said, nodding. Also just what does he mean that I might drop dead?! What the hell, dude?! Ugh, but whatever, it's fine. I won't make a big deal out of it and snipe at him because he apologized.

I wonder why he had a change of heart?

I shook the thought aside and grabbed onto his arm. Even though I'm perfectly capable of leading myself there just fine, I can't wait to see Jamie aka Arthur's mom's reaction. I chuckled to myself as I imagined her head exploding off at the very sight of us entangled together.

Derek was quite warm.

And very muscular! I'm sure he's strong...but I know for a fact that I'm stronger.

Derek then led me to the dining room.

Arthur glanced up from the dining table, and saw both of us enter together, arm in arm.

He frowned but didn't say anything.

Probably too afraid that I'd leave him here alone with his deadly family, so that's why he didn't comment anything. That or he didn't have enough brain power to care how Derek and I got to this point.

"Derek," Emily said, clearing her throat and narrowing her eyes, "my dear beloved favorite son who I love more than anything in the world, may I speak to you for a moment, please? Alone?"

Derek grimaced, but then he nodded and followed Emily out of the dining room.

I plopped down next to Arthur.
